  1. Well, since I didn't die, I'm guessing that there's not enough electricity going through it to kill me. I wasn't even touching it when it shocked me. My skin came about 2 inches from part of one of the circuit boards, and it shocked me. Should I buy a new amp and a new pod, and then send back the non defective part for a refund? Would Klipsch even sell me the amp by itself?
  2. I've had no sound from my speakers for a week!!! I pulled apart the sub and got hella shocked whilst playing with it. So, I think the problem is the control pod, cause there's definately electricity getting to the amp! My question is, if I buy a new control pod from Klipsch, and it turns out that it really is the amp that's the problem, would they let me return the control pod, and pay the difference for a new amp? Would they even ship an amp without the subwoofers?
  3. It happened AGAIN!!! I unplugged everything before I left for Thanksgiving. Now that I'm back the speakers have decided to stay off again!! Grrrr!! F^ck Klipsch, I'm going with a hts.
  4. Here's what mine are set on: Control Pod: Volume between 9 and 10 o'clock Sub between 3 o'clock and max (depends on what I'm playing, but I like to feel the walls vibrate) Surround at 12 o'clock Windows: Main volume between 95-100% wav/direct and cd at 100% When I use my speakers as amps for my electric bass, I can break glasses When I had everything set up in the living room, and I played my bass, I broke 15 glasses and bottles in the wine cabinet, it was a mess to clean up
  5. Well, since I've had mine on 24/7 they've been working fine, maybe you should do the same.
  6. It get's a few degrees over ambient temp, but I don't think that's outside the range of acceptability.
  7. Well, I've let them stay on for a few hours, and they haven't gone out. If I leave them plugged in constantly, like this, should I worry about the amp overheating and catching on fire?
  8. You think that's what caused the problem?
  9. I have my speakers and pc plugged into a surge protector. I turn the surge protector off when I turn off my pc. The speakers go off too, since they don't have an on/off.
  10. Well, I turned it all on this morning, and my speakers worked fine for a full 30 mins. Then I turned everything off and ate breakfast. I came back, turned everything on again, and this time the speakers wouldn't turn on again. So, I'm almost positive that the problem is a lose wire of some kind in the amp. I think I'll take it apart and try to fix it.
  11. I checked every wire there was, everything's connected correctly. The LED doesn't come on, and there is no audio "hiss" to indicate that the speakers are on (plus, there's no sound comming from them whenever the pc is on). My 4.1s were purchased in Dec. 2 years ago. So far they've worked flawlessly. Now, all of a sudden, they've gone completely silent!
  12. Here's what happened: I listened to music (on my pc) with my klipsch 4.1 system, everything's working great. I go eat dinner. I return to find that my speakers won't even turn on when plugged in, and absolutely will not play. What the hell is wrong with it? I don't even know where to begin to get this problem solved. Yes, I looked in the troubleshooting section of the booklet and it didn't have anything on what to do if the damn speakers won't even turn on.
