Its a new construction house. I don't have pictures, though I might be able to swing by there this weekend and snap a few. The house is a 2200 squ foot four bed room house. The living room where this is going is fairly large and opens up into the kitchen which is directly behind the living room. Also, the living room and kitchen have very tall ceilings.
My budget is $700 out the door for the two bookshelf and center speakers. I would like to support local the local av shop here. The price they quoted me:
RB 52 pair $349
RC 52 center $299
RB 42 pair $279
RC 42 center $199
The wife factor is huge here. She is fine with the built in tv speakers. Floor speakers are out the question. The best I can get away with is two decent looking and smallish bookshelf speakers setting on each side of the tv on the tv console. The center speaker I can fit onto one of the tv console shelves much like a dvd player would and the sub will sit on the floor beside the tv console.
I know I will never fill the room with sound the way I want with all my constraints. However, I like to play 50's/60's/70's music so the kids can grow up with quality tunes and want to enjoy a movie every now and then. Very casual but also want to get the best bang of the buck so to speak.
