  1. I am using the 32Hz PEQ setting. I had a nice conversation with Richard yesterday. I played around with my settings last night. You are right, a small change can make a huge effect. Things improved, but are still lacking. I did move my Bottlehead 300B amps into my system. I put them on the horns, and that helped a lot! I am still not happy though. I think I am at the point that I still need to figure out a new preamp/amp for my system.
  2. I am using the K69 driver along with the EV active crossover.
  3. Has anyone tried any of the Jolida amps with Jubilee speakers? Just wondering how it worked out and which models of Jolida have been tried? Thanks!
  4. I used 3 -1.5uF Auricap and 1 - 68uF Solen capacitors and 1 - 2.4 mH and 1 - .15mH Solen inductors. It takes a while to get the parts from Solen. The hardest part was to get all the new parts to fit. All of the new parts are MUCH larger than the original ones. You have to get pretty creative. I think the better solution would be to build the new crossover on a board and attach that to the bottom of the speaker cabinet. If I can ever go without my speakers for a few days that is what I will do. I have been sitting in front of my stereo all morning. It sounds fantastic! My wife keeps saying "aren't you going to go to work today?" It's a good thing I work for myself! I just can't tear myself away!
  5. I finally finished my Heresy II crossover journey. First, I changed out the capacitors for Auricap's and Solen. Then I upgraded the inductors (with plenty of help from Al Klappenberger. Thanks Al!). Now, finally I get to sit back and listen. All I can say is WOW! they don't sound anything like the original ones did. The space between instruments is amazing, the soundstage has deepened and widened. The highs are crisp and clearer. Voices sound as if you are standing in the throat of the person singing. I am hearing new things from music that I have listend to for 30 years! I am very happy with the results.
  6. If anyone would like the schematic, email me and I will send it to you. Maybe someone can take my file and put it up on the board? for some reason it the board won't accept my file. Jim
  7. No, I haven't even thought about that yet! Do you have any suggestions for the inductors? Thanks!
  8. I finally got all the capacitors and finished my upgrade. I installed Auricaps and one Solen. I have been listening to the for about 5 hours now. It has really made a nice improvement. Soundstage is wider and higher. It mostly sounds like I took the cotton out of my ears, much cleaner and more depth. This is really a good upgrade, and worth the expense.
  9. I just opened up my Heresy's to see which crossover I have. It's not marked anywhere on it. It has blue capacitors all look to be the same except for one larger one that is marked 68uf. Can anyone tell me which one I have? Thanks!
  10. I have a pair of Heresy II "signature series". I am wondering if upgrading the capacitors in the crossovers to Auricaps would improve things? Is there anything better than Auricaps? Would changing the values of the capacitors help or hurt? After all of this, is there anything else that I can upgrade to improve the sound of my Heresy's? Thanks for any help!
  11. I bought a pair of Al's crossovers a few months ago for my Khorns. All I can say is WOW!!! Even my wife noticed the difference! Now, she will actually sit down and listen for hours, even when I am not home! My best friend came over last week to hear them. He liked what he heard so much, that he bought a pair of khorns, and is going to be ordering Al's crossovers shortly. Thanks Al, I am in love with my Khorns again!!!!
  12. Does anyone know what, if anything is different with the Signature Series Heresy? I just bought a pair and they sound amazing for this size of speaker! jmareci
