  1. Keysersoze, first, I love the name and what a great movie....

Check out Bose 791's, which can also be heard at most BestBuy stores, etc. They have a crisp sound and good mids and base.

I love their customer service, warranty which is above most and their quality is as good as some of my klipsch speakers. They also offer a 12 month no interest program to purchase direct from them.... Check em out, you'll agree that they sound great and worth every cent. I'm sure many higher end units will sound better but these are great ones too.

Sounds awful like a Bose advertisement to me...

  2. Pulled the trigger on 2x RF-7ii, RC-64, and 2x RS-62. All in black! Hopefully they come next week before 4th of July holiday.

Congrat. Do you have already a sub? What receiver/amp are you gonna use to drive them?

Right now I have a Denon 2112ci that I've been very happy with. Eventually going to kick it downstairs for use with our ceiling speakers in the living room and patio. Just need to identify a suitable replacement.

I have a Premier Acoustic PA-120 subwoofer. Seemed to be a good bang for the buck choice when I bought it years ago. Glad I'm finally in a house and able to use it to its full potential. It was NOT suited for apartment use!

Update - Speakers arrived and set up properly! Thanks to Acoustic Sound Design (http://www.acousticsounddesign.com) for getting them to me before the July 4th Holiday. There was a small amount of box damage but this is common with freight shipping. Speakers were in perfect condition.

  3. If anyone is remotely near north central Florida, I would absolutely love to hear a demo of your setup. I went to a local retailer, but I was only able to hear the RF-7s in a 2.0 setup.

Youthman is in Plant City and has a pair of RF-7II's but only in a 2-channel rig. He just sold his RF-83/RC-64 combo and now is using LaScala triplets up front. Don't take the drive or you may be on the hunt for LaScalas also.:D

Welcome to the forum if I have not already greeted you.

    Bill

Thanks for the welcome Bill! I'm not sure what I want at this point. Just continuing to do research. I will own these speakers for a long time so I don't want to rush into purchasing anything. A trip down to see Youthman certainly sounds like it would be worthwhile!

  4. I'm trying to decide what to replace my pitiful Klipsch Promedia Satellites with. I have a 15x20 theater room with a 7.1 prewire. 120 inch 16:9 screen.

Currently leaning towards 2x RF-7 ii, RC-64 ii, and 2x RS-62. I partly like the idea of RB-81 bookshelf speakers for the side surrounds, since I just haven't heard bipole speakers in a home theater setup in person. Will probably just kick 2 of my satellites back to perform rear surround duty until I decide to drop additional cash.

  5. For what it's worth, I've been using my Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 satellites with a Denon receiver for a few years now. Threw them up on some speaker stands and wired them up like any other speaker. Audyssey for calibrations worked just fine as well.
