  1. Please explain how the multi cell designs affects the pressure wave? What would change without the cells. Seems like the lower frequency cutoff would be determined by the max width of the individual cell and not their sum. What is their advantage? What would the affect be if you arrayed two smaller horns without lengthing, would that change the lower cutoff or just sound horrible.

  2. Ten feet is a lot, I'm sure it was not designed that way. Does your THX system use a power amplifer with discrete power supplies for each channel ie FIVE transformers. I have a single large EI and I have never noticed hum but I can feel it vibrating when I touch it. Maybe a shelf or something is resonating the 60htz or check the screws on the core(s) themseves.

  3. I was surprised when I discovered a large oldrer style EI type power supply in my Mccormack amp. Looks like Mccormack uses EI style transformers in ther whole line of stereo power amps. Apparently there is growing debate about the superiority of the popular toroidal core transformer over the conventional EI type for use in power amps. The Mccormack is no slouch in the power amp field so I'm real curious as why they seem to be marching to a different drum. Mccormack has not responded to my query. Any opinions on toroidal vs EI type power supplies.

    Thanks,

  4. I'm sooo tired of explaining to the sales people the particulars of their product. A Klipsch dealer(not Tweeter} that has been selling Klipsch for twenty-five years tells me that the only Klipsch using compression drivers is the Heritage line. I say no way! The Reference and Synergy lines also use compression albiet a different design. Anybody want to help clairify this question?

    Thanks B.B.

  5. Bose is what it is. It,s overpriced junk; that's ok. The sad thing is that it's sucksess reflects a too pliable American public that will not take the time to become truly informed and savy consumers; it's much easier to be sold on something than to decide on something. We deserve the government we get as well as the Blose speakers we get. Let's all shop at Walmart and fill our homes and lives with junk. God Bless America. Ha.16.gif
