Wow that wood grain one looks fantastic. Is there a thread where you documented your restore?Hello Folks, so after 43 years of working with the kids at the Boys & Girls Clubs in San Francisco I've retired. Some of you may recall the LaScalas the kids & I refurbished thanks to the wonderful guidance from the Klipsch community (see attached). So now I've brought home from the Club my old stereo (from my teen years) a 70's, a near mint Sansui 9090 and a pair of AR-11 speakers. I'm in the process of refinishing the AR cabinets and while removing the drivers had the foam on the tweeters basically disintegrate in my hands. I haven't been able to find an exact replacement and was told I could use 1/8" felt instead. I don't have any knowledge about the function of the foam so I'm not sure if I should try the felt. I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance, Mark

Lol... I've been looking for the Chorus II's for a while now. Some guy here in SA just sold a pair of Khorns and a pair of La Scalas. And then there's this pair of Heresy's. It's like every speaker being sold around here except the Chorus. Lol. Just gotta be patient.I know , just kidding [emoji3]

I know they are different. I used to have the Heresy. I am asking if he happens to have a different pair of speakers he'd be willing to part with.I doubt it , he's got Heresy speakers -------very different

Yeah they are expensive. I've been saving for 2 years for my setup. But I know it will be worth it. Plus I'm single with no kids so, no one can tell me shit yet. lol. Good luck...

Op I have owned both series. For a theater setup I would take the rf-7ii any day if the week. RP series is sweet with music! Sweeter than the 7ii eh I doubt it. And the 64 is a better center. Stick with your original plan

You can't go wrong sailing on the Flagship RF 7II and RC 64II. These bad boys can hang with the best to be had.

No matter what people have most will say it sounds amazing. Pretty rare that anybody will say otherwise. Not saying they don't sound nice but stuff like this is kind of meaningless. but for me to stick with the RC64II regardless of what I do.
No. If you're going to stick with the RC-64ii you just need to get the matching RF-7ii. I had a set of the RP-260's and was mixing/matching with my RF-7ii/RC-64ii setup. You don't really want to mix stuff up. Bad idea in general but I've done this exact thing and just don't go there. Some things it's ok but some sounds on the tweeters is just way different. Plus the finish just doesn't match at all. Doesn't make much sense to get a sexy black ash center and surround it with the brushed vinyl premiere stuff. If you put them right next to each other the premiere stuff looks like it has a purple tint anyway. By itself they look ok but the RF-7ii/RC-64ii is a pure black and anything otherwise next to it is pretty obvious. Pics don't quite do it justice but here are the two centers beside each other. The premier center actually sounded really nice but you don't want to mix it with RF-7ii's or vice versa. Always match the tweeters.

Welcome to the forum.
Many on the forum, including myself, have not heard any Premiere speakers.
With that said, I doubt you will find any speakers in the Reference line, past or present, that will be "better" than the RF-7II/RC-64II for HT.
Get them while they are still available new and discounted.
Oh also, if your living room/HT is on the large size, consider a preamp-processor/amplifier combo or AVR/amplifier combo to give that RF-7II speaker system the power it deserves.

Hey Bill, thanks so much I appreciate it. Yeah I think I'm gonna stick with my gut and continue with the RF7II. And as far as the preamp/AVR I just bought an Onkyo. But I will be buying an extra preamp for it.

I have not heard the new Premiere Line but since they have not introduced a replacement for the RF-7ii, I cannot see any of the current Premiere speakers being able to hang with the RF-7ii. My vote is keep what you have.

I'm pretty sure there is already a discussion about this because I have seen it before, but for some reason I can't find it by searching this time. So I thought I'd give my story and ask.
I am currently building a system for my living room/ home theater. I don't have a dedicated room for a HT so hence my description of "living room/ home theater." I have been thinking about building this system for years, well more like dreaming. But I didn't have my own house. Well I moved in my house about a year ago and have been buying furniture and slowly getting things in order. I also have been saving money and buying HT components slowly to build this dream of mine. When I initially thought about it 2 years ago I was in the debate with myself between the Reference RF-82II and the RF-7II. I used to love the RF-83's but once they got discontinued I was trying to find them but could not get any in my area. So the battle of the RF-82II and the RF-7II began. I researched and asked on forums and finally decided that I was going with the RF7II. Along with the RC64II and (4) RS-62II for my back and side surrounds. So far I have purchased but have not installed, the RC-64II, and the (4) RS-62II. I have NOT purchased the RF-7II yet. But I plan on doing that in a month or 2. But ever since this "NEW" line called the Reference Premiere System with the new design came out I am now in the debate again.
I like the fact that they are a tiny but smaller. Making it easy to fit places. But in a way I love the massiveness of the RF-7II and RC64II as well. The rear surrounds are a lot smaller and weigh a lot less, which is a big plus for me. But the design of them look a little weird to me. So I just wanted a little opinion from you guys so I can keep my mind in the right direction. Because I am always 2nd gueing myself. Should I sell what I have and get the new Reference Premiere? Or should I just buy the RF-7II and complete my system as is like I had planned? I remember reading on a thread once that someone said, "If you have the money go with the Reference II, but if you need to compromise go with the new system. Well I can afford the RF-7II. So thats not the issue.
What would you do if you were in my situation? If you were in my shoes. Based off the info I provided. Thanks
