    my 47" panasonic tele is due here Wednesday. I've been looking at the Hughes box that Best Buy carries. It has the direct tv stuff built in. Any opinions on this Hughes box? Any other boxes I should look at? My other question is about Direct TV programming. Does the basic Total Choice package include HD programming? I know it has the nbc type stuff, but specifically I want the Discovery HD stuff. Will I need to pay extra for DiscoveryHD?

    I appreciate any advice anyone can spare. Im clueless with this stuff but learning. thanks.

    Hello,

    Im really having a hell of a time deciding what tv to buy. My budget is around $1500 but I possibly can come up with a little more. So many options its giving me a headache.

    Ive been considering the 47" Panasonic, the 43" Hitachi, and a 36" Sony Wega Flat Screen.

    Anyone have any advice on what you'd pick? Any thoughts appreciated.

    Glad to hear you're in too man!! Definately will have to hook up. Im told the holiday inn across the street from the venue has a pretty nice bar/lounge thing and Im sure we'll have parties in the room. Im flying out solo for the shows and running into my kids out there. If I hear or see any tickets available I'll buy them. Ive been calling TM now and then just to check.

    Have you seen the Coliseum's web site? What a wild building. Ive seen it before travelling from va beach but never been inside. I hear its small. Phish shows there are legendary...we're definately in for a treat. 85 days according to walfredo.com

    yo Dave. I'll be at Hampton. I scored one ticket for each nite but no msg. Im pretty happy. Ive seen ya posting at rmp... hope you score thru the releases happening. I'll be staying at the newport news hampton inn on the 1st and cruising over to the holiday inn across from the mothership for the following nites. peace and goood luck.

    Howdy folks,

    Well the Klipsch saga continues... Ive found set of Cornwalls for sale locally. Just cant pass this pair of speakers up. Sadly my 1980s Heresys must be sold to get the Cornwalls. The Heresys are walnut.. HWO, and in real nice shape. $350/pair. I can get digi photos to anyone interested.

    Thought I'd offer them here before they get auctioned on ebay. Email or post here if interested.

    Tickets will be tough but most pH nye shows are. Im going to order a pair for the run and see how the ticket gods treat me. Im pheel pretty lucky.

    Not sure whats up with the cheese nye. Im not concerned with that right now. Mike havent forgotten about that show, just been slammed with work. it is coming though.

    found Eico ST-70

    Hey Guys,

    found a Eico ST-70 today at one of the pawnshops closeby. Price tag was $450. The appearance was in pretty solid shape. One of the knobs was missing the brown felt inside it. I didnt remove the cage to look below as I wouldnt really know what to look for. No signs of rust. I will look under next visit probably Monday.

    Question is what is a fair price for this unit?

    Should I get the SF-1s or RF3 system?

    I enjoy my Synergy stuff for movies. Real fun experience. Cant compare to the RF stuff because its more $$ than I'd want to spend. The Synergy arent the best for music.. my Heresys blow them away there. But they are great with movies. Go listen to them is my advice. I plan on enjoying mine for years to come.

    yeah the sci dvd is pretty cool. I would prefer it to be just 2 sets of music w/o interviews and such. But as it is it mixes alot of live stuff, and interviews. Definately shows off how fun these guys are live. You'll enjoy.

    re: sci, billy and liza. What can be said but they kick ***. Not your typical crap pop... these guys have depth. I think the only OTR series to use the Matrix soundboard were the Fox Atlanta shows from the spring. I would want those 2 first. Mike if you're into this stuff I'll burn you a freebie SCI show, Ive got a few real crisp soundboards around here.

    thanks dudes. I downloaded 70 different songs from the artists mentioned above while I was at work today. Will cycle thru them and evaluate. So far that Ricki Jones chick is kinda cool but different.
