  1. Parts make good center channels. This one is a great match for my LaScalas. I used a Heresy tweeter and midrange and selected Focal dual 7” woofers and ported. The crossover had to be re-configured from the type E that came came in the Heresy. The frequency response is about like the Heresy, but with a little stronger bass and the timber matches perfectly across the soundstage. The cabinet face is the same as the LaScala top and the depth adjusted to the woofer parameters to perform well. I had to take a few dB off the tweeter and midrange to level out the volume with the woofer. Some might ask “why didn’t you just use the Heresy?”; I wanted it to look like a center channel and fit in my console.

    Good luck on your project!

  2. T2K, about your original question, some have suggested the S&W MP15-22. That is a great choice. I have one and they are incredibly fun to shoot, but take lots of ammo with you. My son shot 220 on the Appleseed AQT with one. He has a keen eye and a steady hand, though. My favorite semi-auto is a built 10-22 with a revolution extreme stock, Kidd trigger, Green Mountain 20" fluted barrel, and a Nikon 4-12x40 scope. It is ridiculously accurate out to 100 yards and everyone wants to shoot it.

  3. As I recall, several years back at one of the Hope gatherings, a "taste test" was set up to see if folks could tell the difference in the types of wiring. My recollection is that their was no evidence that the fancy wiring made any audible difference. Someone may correct me, but that is what I recall.

  4. No hard feelings meant from my posts on this thread. But if you are offended, you have my permission to be. heh heh. Still think it was a cute picture of the cat in the speaker. Better then "The Cat in the Hat" by a long shot.

It's a joke, jeez. I am not offended in the least; I thought the picture was really cute with the cat peeking out. "Permission"? I think the sensitivity meter is pegging and needs to lighten up.
