  1. Hey nickyboy6100 welcome to forum...... The ChorusII's that you have are one of my favorite of all my speakers. Out of all the speakers I own I use my Chorus line the most(at the house). Don't get me wrong I love all my Klipsch........but when it comes to concert level......chest thumping sound my Chorus will be powerd-up. The ChorusII was one of the first Klipsch speakers I hear way back in the day. A buddie of mine got four of them and two Carver Cube amps. I was absoutely blown away........When those little lights started jumping on those Carver Cubes......I could not belive the sound.......that sound stuck with me......I knew one day I would own Klipsch speakers, and Carver amps......I just didn't know how many I would have. lol lol I have tried many amps with my Chorus speakers, but the one amp I think drives those speakers like no other is the Carver TFM55x,imho...that Carver will pump out 380 watts and run cool. I have two Adcom 555II's that I bridged and the Carver still made the bass hit harder on those ChorusII's. I also like the Crown amps...... Well that's my two cents......have fun with your gear.......lots of good peeps here....... I've never been a forum guy.....but I do like hanging here with a lot of the guys. Keep us posted....MKP :-) Where can I find a good carver or crown amp?
  2. Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I got my chorus from one of my good buddies. He bought them new in the 90's. The first time I heard them I was blown away. I'd only listened to brands such as Pioneer, Cerwin Vega, etc. I begged him to sell them to me for the next 10 years. In the mean time, I bought a pair of kg4s to hold me over thinking he would never come off the chorus. I was really happy with the kg4s. A few months ago he called me to see if I was still interested in the chorus. They had been in his basement for a long while without any use. He had "upgraded" and they were now just taking up space. At this point I almost passed on them because I was content with the kg4. He convinced me that if I heard them again I would be sold. He was right. I must have totally forgot how great they sounded. I bought them on the spot and haven't hooked the kg4 up since. Can't bring myself to part with the kg4 though. Another awesome klipsch speaker.
  3. Thanks for all the welcomes. You guys probably think I'm crazy. I've been trying to respond to specific persons but my phone is not cooperating. I'll work it out tomorrow. Thanks again for all the good suggestions.
  4. Thanks. 2 channel seems the way for me right now.
  5. You are probably right. I put the mode on 2 channel stereo and it sounds pretty good. Didn't know if I needed to mess with the gain or htrz.?
  6. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/155236-New-to-the-forum#entry1835209 New to the forum Welcome! You don't need to hook all the speakers if you don't want to. You will get much better results with a separate amp. Adcom Rotel Carver B&K and Parasound just to name a few. Just hook it...... I have a klipsch academy center that I've tried hooking up to the avr. Can't get much sound out of it. Seems like it pulls power away from my mains when I use it. Sounds better without it.
  7. Got them off the wall about 12 in. And they are towed in a bit. I do have a large area rug in the room. The sound is actually not too bad. reading other posts I was worried about the bass response. I definitely don't have a problem in that area!! So far very pleased with the chorus 2.
  8. Ha, I would love to have chorus in every room. I cant believe how much sound they put out. I listen at(what i think) is moderate volume and they just rock. Very in your face kinda sound, but for the most part clean and precise. Maybe a little bright sometimes. That probably has more to do with my reciever though. I hear yamaha and klipsch dont pair the best. Might be kinda over kill for what I probably need. Has a lot of music settings I'm just not familiar with.
  9. I will be listening on a turntable, streaming and cds. Might also hook the TV up.
  10. My room is probably not the best acoustics. It is a 150yrs old farmhouse. All wood flooring. 16x16 is my listening room with one large opening and two small ones. Luckily I can position both speakers in corners about 14 ft. Away from each other. I listen to a lot of different music. No new country or rap. Mostly rock, jazz, outlaw country, some instrumental.
  11. Hello, I'm a new member to the forum, but have been looking around here for a few months. I'm defiantly not an expert in home audio. music is a big part of my life though and I finally got a pair of chorus 2s. Until about two weeks ago, I'd been powering them with a yamaha rxv992. I thought it sounded really good. So when it quit working I bought a newer yamaha rxv2700. I probably jumped the gun on the purchase because I don't think I'll ever hook up more than two speakers to it. It also seems a little complicated. I've read a few posts that speak highly of Adcom components and also Marantz. Any advice on either of these two brands would be appreciated. Also, if there is a better option I would be open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.
  12. I also have one in black. Located in Southern Indiana. 47620.
