  1. Thanks for watching Jackson. Hedgehogs aren't the most affectionate pets in the world. I'm lucky enough to have one that's comfortable with people. She enjoys long walks and long cuddling sessions. hehe
  2. I just so happen to have a hedgehog! And no, she hasn't seen the back of an RF-7 II, let alone been inside one.
  3. Hey Scrappy. Thanks for watching and thanks for the correction. Perhaps I should consider using scripts after all. :D
  4. Hey Jo, As it just so happens, my neighbor owns a pair of vintage K-Horns. Unfortunately, neither his room or electronics are ideal for the speakers, so I couldn't give you an accurate assessment as to how they compare to my RF-7 II's. Hopefully somebody with a bit more experience with both models will see your post and respond in kind.
  5. Welcome aboard sscnow, Before anybody here can give you proper direction, we first need to know more about your situation. Answer the following questions, and I'm sure we'll be able to steer you towards a great solution! First - How big is your listening space? Second- Will most of your listening take place within this room? Third- Do you like it loud? Fourth - What kind of features are important to you? Lastly- What's your budget?
  6. Thanks for the welcome Tasdom. Wait, I said they were in Walnut? I erm.. I uhh.. *backs away slowly* Heh. Great catch. You're right, they are cherry. I was probably caught in a moment of wishful thinking. Will go amend that part via: text bubble! Edit: Babadono - Thanks for pointing out my mistake!
  7. Thanks for the feedback everybody! At the end of the day, I do my best to post reviews that are both honest and accurate. This is incredibly important to me, as my ultimate goal is to help other people along in their Hi-Fi journey. Yeah, my videos are stupidly basic - but I'm not trying to put on a show. I'm simply out to offer good content. As an aside, I really do like how interactive the Youtube format is. As of now, the most challenging aspect of this project is to create videos that make sense. I say that because none of my reviews are scripted. Once I set the camera up and hit the "record" button, everything that I say is, for the most part at least, off the cuff. That said, I now throw in cuts/edits because it's proven too difficult to ramble on for 5-9 minutes straight without choking or mispronouncing at least 20 words. Oh and swapface - I'm pretty happy with my reference system, which I've yet to post a video of.
  8. Superdave - Your room is gorgeous. The HT rig ain't too bad either. Thanks for sharing!
  9. Hey everybody, Hopefully I won't be stepping on any toes by doing this, but I wanted to hip you all to a review that I posted on the RF-7 II's. Now before I shamelessly throw up a link to my review, I first want to give you all a bit of context to chew on. A part of the reason why I posted this review is because I feel like Klipsch has never gotten the respect that it deserves from the audiophile community. Having owned numerous audiophile-approved, sports-car priced loudspeakers throughout the years - I readily admit that products like the RF-7 II's excite me. While I doubt my review will sway ye typical audiophile from writing off the RF-7 II as nada more than a rock n' roll speaker, I nonetheless thought you all would enjoy the synopsis. So, now that I've given away the crux of my review (d'oh), here's the link! Please be kind. I suck at making videos.
  10. As always, the word "budget" varies from wallet to wallet. I haven't heard the latest Parasound Halo integrated, but from what I can tell, this piece seems like a good option for somebody who is looking for a powerful, full-featured integrated from an established manufacturer. That said, if you're a real world listener who wants to step into a non-sucky integrated that features a good DAC and Phono-pre, and you're more or less trying to stick to a real world budget, then check out affordable alternatives like the iFi Retro 50 ($1500 USD) or the Indiana Line Puro 800 ($880). Both pieces sound excellent with Klipsch speakers.
  11. Hey Scrappydue, Thanks for the warm welcome. Since I don't want to derail the thread, I'll attempt to answer your questions as efficiently as possible: I see where you're coming from with regards to my room. Usually giant speakers like the RF-7 II's need some space to strut their stuff. Space that I wish I had. Thankfully, my listening room boasts of unusually good acoustics. The RF-7 II's sound supremely open and balanced in this room - even on the low end! As for why I don't have them toed further in: My goal is to enjoy all of the benefits that the RF-7 II's have to offer while at the same time mitigating the signature of the horn. I've found that toeing in the RF-7 II's (to any significant degree) will make it super easy to identify the horn. Not only that, but doing so also tends to result in a much brighter presentation - something that I feel the RF-7 II's need no help with.
  12. Hey everybody! New member here! Thought I'd share a clip of my RF-7 II's playing a couple tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXPgnnxliOQ
