DTS-X and Auro mainly are not why I'm considering the Denon. The Denon is an 11.2 receiver. It's amps get nice reviews. If I were to purchase a receiver it would need to be an upgrade to my current. A self amplified 11.2 is a "upgrade" from my current 7.2. I didn't need a OLED tv, my 3D Sony works fine but I wanted an LG OLED and got one..I really don't care about Atmos or DTS-X, Auro, anything that has to bounce sound off the ceiling or shoot downward from it. (Please, no one ask why. Trust I know why and don't think anyone else needs to)I believe what he is trying to say is if you can only upgrade the receiver OR the speakers, that upgrading your speakers to rf7 II would be a bigger improvement compared to upgrading your receiver to the denon. I have the denon 6200 which I love, but couldn't justify (at the time) the price difference for the 7200 which had a couple of extra watts. From what I read about the Pioneer, the biggest difference is that it doesn't support dts:x. We are not here to fight, we are here to learn, teach, help, etc. Good luck with your upgradeitis, most of us have the same condition. [emoji3]My room limitations (low ceilings) won't let me take advantage of them. I currently use a 7.2 configuration using 2 front height speakers as well, not configured for Atmos.
I enjoy 2 channel stereo reproductions as well as surround sound and 7 channel stereo. I want to be able to bi-amp my mains, be they RF3 ll's or RF7 ll's, lll's or whatever.
What I don't want to add an external amp needing to get it all balanced together and taking up more space, adding an independent power source costing me more money I don't need to spend where an 11.2 receiver will do the trick costing me less over all. I've always had Pioneer Elite, Sony ES and Yamaha.. I've never used Onkyo, Denon, Maratz or Integra and many other. I'm familiar with YPAO and MCACC auto tune and never used Audyssey, I wouldn't mind giving it a try tho..
I haven't decided positive I'd get a receiver at this point but I'm open to it... Although I listen close to reference volume in movies, for music I'm more interested in clarity, depth and sound stage where bi-amping might be advantageous. No, I don't want to do component separate's, why? Because I don't! In case anyone would ask is all..
That's the long version to appease whom ever with "kid" in his name. Me, I'm not a kid, way far from it!
I really just wanted opinions on speakers not in depth of "why" I want to do anything and thought i supplied more than enough info in my OP for others to give it, sorry if I didn't. (know I did tho)
Thanks and hope I didn't offend anyone.

Is why I asked you of you read my first post..Easy there, Joe. No need to fly off the cuff. You came here asking for advice. You mentioned a number of upgrade options and some of them make better sense than others for the situation you are in. You mentioned you have an SC-91, but the features and power between it and the Denon you mentioned don't show much in the way of an upgrade, thus I asked you "why?"
It was a simple question. No need to be defensive about it.
Did you, maybe go back and take a second look.
It was clearly stated why... I want to!!!
The Denon and Pioneer have in common that they are both rectangular, that's about it sir!
Again, thanks for your input.

I started to write a rather lengthy reply to your "why". I found the more I wrote the more I got pissed off at "why". Seriously?...my question is: Why?
What does the 7200 have that your current AVR does not?
The RP-450C is not spec'd to match with the RF-7 II nor the RF-7 III. You'd want either the RC-64 II or III.
If you upgrade subs, I'd suggest upgrading to twin 15's if you currently have twin 12's. One 15 does not equal two 12's.
It was explained, did you even read the opening post. I got the upgrade itch. I don't need a reason "why". I'm not spending your money, I'm spending "my" money.
I thanked everyone for contributing, contribute further or don't.
"Why" other than what's been said is really no one business..

Thanks for the input folks, as my room is set up now I have size restraints on the size of center speakers. I'm planning on redoing the H/T room this spring which will open things up some. Perhaps sell my 12in subs in favor of a single 15" if the right deal presents it's self. The 62 center sounds like a possibility. I need to find a place to audition some center's, honestly I don't think my RC3 ll sound's bad now tho.
I've been looking pretty hard at the Denon AVR-X7200. Then maybe down the road find a RP450C or similar center and further still RF7 ll's or a pair of RP280F's. I'm frugal and look for good for "me" deals and not above buying something cheap and sell it high just to add to the H/T fund.
Again, thanks for the help!

My room size is 20x17. I am using RF3 ll's & RC3 ll's for LCR mains. Also 2 KSW12HG Subwoofers tuned to match the low end of the RF3 & RC3 Series ll's..
My receiver is a Pioneer Elite SC-91. I have the upgrade itch, truly, I get it to often but I have been putting this system together a long time improving where I can when I can.
I use a Samsung UBD-K8500 Blu-ray player and a TiVo Bolt are my connected components.
I have opportunity to upgrade my receiver OR my main speakers. I am thinking about RF7 ll's and have a chance to pick up RP 280F's.
I have not had a chance to listen to the RP280F's. I've listened to RF7 ll's but not in my H/T room. I listen to both music with this system in both 2ch. direct & 7ch. stereo. I also use it for movies.
If I keep the receiver I have what do you think would be the best speaker to match the RF3 & RC3 ll's or the RP280F's, or the RF7 ll's?
My receiver choices are as follows;
Denon AVR-X6300H
YAMAHA RX-A2070
Marantz SR7011
Lastly possibly a Pioneer Elite SC-LX901.
If I go with the speakers I won't have money to buy a different center speaker. The RC3 series ll will have to do and if I buy the receiver there is no money for speakers even if a great deal falls in my lap.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Joe

I've gotten a few receivers from accessories 4 less in the past, both my current units are from there and am considering a third. Problem is I can't decide which one. Never had a problem and get top notch at half the price or less. Really glad you are loving yours.Fyi there was a firmware update released this month with improvements in audio quality for streaming audio like Pandora and Spotify. Massive improvement. Before there were odd pops and such that were really distracting. Now everything is perfect and crystal clear. Not sure if the update only applies to the SC-LX501 or higher models as well but just wanted to pass it along.

I also have low ceilings at 7ft.Hey guys I need some help choosing Atmos speakers from the more experienced. I can't decide which route is better and the "Atmos specifications" on the 140sa doesn't help. The system outside of Atmos consits of. 1 RP-250c - Center 2 RP-150m - FL/FR 2 RP-250s - SL/SR 2 RP-150m - RL/RR 2 SVS PB-2000 4 Atmos??
Okay the issues here are alot lol.
I do not have reflective ceilings. Even if I did, I have no place to put Upfiring Atmos modules 3 the 150ms are in Bookshelve like nooks that are part of the wall. I know this is frowned upon, doesn't matter I don't have another option.
I have low ceilings 7'5" so on the border of Atmos working at all [emoji20]. So fitting 150ms up there isn't going to fly. On top of the fact that's really low for Atmos I'm 6'4" can't have anything more than 6 inches deep up there.
Now if you notice, I took great care to macth not only timber but also driver size and crossovers as best as I could. I would like to stay the same with the Atmos, however I cannot [emoji20].
I cannot install ceiling speakers (even if I could Klipsch doesnt make 5.25 in ceilings or I'd build a box for them and call it a day [emoji20].
That leaves me with 2 options. Well 3.
1.RP 140sa, mounted on the ceiling horizontally. So that they come down 6 inches on the tweeter side, and angle toward the MLP. 2. RP 140sa, mounted at the top of the wall where it meets the ceiling, so tweeter flush with the ceiling.
3. RP 140d , Mounted on the ceiling angled or straight down. I know Klipsch says don't mount either of these to the ceiling, however I won't be using the keyholes, I will be building custom brackets and screwing into the speakers to attach them. I also know this voids the warranty and do not care.
Which one of these would be the closest timbre macth to the others? They are both only 50ws, they are both smaller drivers (Atmos crossovers should help that not matter, right?)
Personal preference is the 140s, they would look better, but that Dolby enabled junk, I don't know how well they would work on the ceiling. I have no idea why this post formatted funny. I'll try to fix it later.
Side from using in ceiling speakers, which I can not do because of a lack of depth to the ceiling. I am using a 7.2 config with front height speakers and rear back speakers with my main LCF BI-amp'd and two 12" subwoofers set low with the volume just a little high for occasional chest thumping explosions.
I can't do Atmos due to the room so I don't worry about it. What I got sounds good enough for my old ears..

That's so cool, I hope you have a blast. If you find yourself with an extra ticket I live in Boston and I'm from Baltimore. I can always meet you in D.C. [emoji16]Yes! After my mlb all-star game trip in July, I'll be ready to get some fronts by September! Lol, The Hyatt Place dc national mall hotel isn't cheap, and I booked a 880 foot suite, so all money goes towards that and the 3 game tickets (I called the mlb office, explaining I'm visually impaired and like to sit behind the netting at games, they're going to give me 3 tickets that they order for clients, pretty cool stuff!!) So no more spending for me. [emoji4]Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
I know there no chance of that happening but just in case I wanted to call shotgun!!

Get a decent sound meter, eBay is a good option for a nice one that Radio Shack use to sell...0 to 12 means nothing without knowing the many variables that only being in your room could tell but basically setting volume levels to reference levels or near will work nicely. Somewhere around 87 decibles on a good meter providing the amp in your receiver doesn't start clipping the speakers at that level or if it's to loud for the room and other family members. Reference levels in smaller rooms can be painful.First I'd let the MACC auto tuner have a crack at setting your speakers and fine tune from there..Speaker is amazing!! I don't have a PSL meter, should I keep all speakers at the 0 sound level? The VSX832 goes from 0 to 12 on the sound level.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Look on craigslist for speakers, no need to pay sticker price on cars or speakers!I had to drive an hour in to Maine to get them but I bought my RF 7's for $500 for the pair. The RC64, although 8 inches high as well, would be great, but is out of my budget right now. Amazon has the Rc62 for $324.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

That Klipsch center is rated at 150 wats rms.My setup is: Pioneer VSX832, and I've got a Polk PSW 12 inch. Right now I'm using this TruAudio center that's only 175 watts peak, so I'm very excited to get the rc62! There's a pair of rf62 speakers on Ebay for $299 I think I saw, but can't swing them and get new center. Thanks guys for all your help! As I like to say about video games graphics, "sound is my graphics."Wattage is not what makes a speaker sound good, the quality of the speaker and CLEAN power is what makes a speaker sound good. The pioneer amp is ok, I would consider an upgrade to it if you want a better sounding system. If you like pioneer (I do) I would suggest something in the SC elite line ending with a 5 in the model... Again, you can find something near newbin pioneer elite receivers at great prices online or refurbished . Try accessories4less.

Sounds like your mind is made up, get the 62 and enjoy. Get the matching front left and right when/if you can.I know, but right now, my left and rights are overpowering the small center, so I figured for now, I could get the RC62, and then get the two fronts. If I had the $$, I would buy the RC package. I've never owned a Klipsch of any kind, so I'm pretty excitedIn ending being visually impaired I would think the timber of a speaker you hear to stand out more than a person without visual impairment.
My feeling is your new 62 center is going to sound amazing and your left and right that once maybe sounded good to you will no longer after adding the Klipsch RC 62 center. Perhaps causing you to not think the Klipsch sounds as good as it does.
Like others suggest surrounds should be a very last expenses in your system. Matching LCR, maybe a decent subwoofer then surrounds last.
There's enough used Klipsch equipment for sale you should be able to put together a really nice sounding system on the cheap.
Best of luck!!

I think that's a great deal, make sure to thank your buddy. He's doing you a solid.A friend has a 1 year old set of klipsch Icon speakers, they are, KF28, KC25, and KB15 all for 500$. Also what would be recommended to power them. I am planning on getting them this weekend.
I already got a 2.2 system with two Dayton sub-1200 and Dayton T652, which I am seriously disappointed with the Dayton towers but the subs are phenomenal for the price.
As for driving them there are too many options to recommend just one. A Marantz 6001 would do nicely, so would a Pioneer LXSC501 or Yamaha 2030.
If budget is an issue check out accessories 4 less. They resell factory refurbished units for a fraction of what they cost new. I've been using then for quite some time.
Best of luck!

I think you may have to use a Klipsch WA2 wireless kit for each G12 you want to use for a surround channel depending on what your using for a source..I used a five speaker Quintet and RW8 sub set up. Can I add two Gallery G12 speakers for surround back?If your using a set of Quintet's (5.1 with a sub) are you planning on replacing the Quintet surrounds with the G12's. I would think the matched Quintet's would sound better..

I saved for a year for my OLED. I also went thru my collection of electronics that are in perfect condition yet no longer used and are boxed up taking up space in my basement and sold them cheap. The money added up fast.Joe01880 I wold really like an OLED TV, but they are expensive and it is hard to get around that, and they only go to 65 inches unless you want to spend crazy money. I can get an 86 inch LG with a good but not great picture for $2,400 delivered, and the kids will be more excited about big than great colors. A 65 inch i=TV is 57x32. An 86 inch TV is 75x42. That is 72% more area. Think of it in our terms. Would you rather have a really excellent bookshelf speaker or an OK 6-foot tall tower? Oh, wait, bad question. Ignore that.I also looked at apps like letgo, FB Market Place and CL for people selling things like speakers WAY to cheap, bought them and resold them fast. In one instance I bought a set of A Cambridge Soundwork towers for $20, personally I thought they sounded like crap but I resold them the very next day on a different site for $150. Combine that with saved BB gift cards and in a years time I bought my 65in LG OLED B7P from Costco during their black Friday sale for $2400.
...as far as the "our terms" comment goes, I have a really nice set of Klipsch RF-7's and paid $500 for the set. So yeah, I'll take the "cheap" towers every day.

I wouldn't buy a tv from China unless I wanted a Chinese tv.Joe01880 I am a cheapskate wannabe audiophile. Then again, I am generally a cheapskate. I am the guy who would have a TV drop shipped from China. I buy used and refurbished all the time and never have any problems. I guess I would rather be lucky than good. And I am careful. I cross check things and verify before I go. So I have not yet had the TV drop shipped from China because I cannot validate them, but where else can you find a 110 inch 4K Samsung for under $5,000?
Personally I really like my Korean made OLED.

Ah yes, the fever. Depending on your savings for such things the fever can get out of control. I like looking for pre-owned, versus new for speakers and cars and consider manufacturer refurbished over new for most electronics, especially where extended warranties can be had, it just saves time and money that way. If possible I like to try to time such fevers to major tech changes such as 1080 to 4K where in just about all components need to be upgraded. That gets pricey fast. Small things like Atmos don't faze me much.
I'm a poor man's audiophile, I don't even know anyone who has dreams of 10k bottles of whine...

The only way that statement would hold water is if you were 12. We will just have to agree to disagree. High end speakers cost big bucks. I'm not letting someone else spend my money. If the speaker I'm listening to sounds like crap to me and golden to you, you buy them. I want what sounds like angels singing to my ears, not yours..There may be a huge possibility that what sounds great to you might also sound great to me but in the end it's my money, I can spend it just fine and I trust my ears, they are the only ones that count! At the end of the day of course this is true but critical listening is a learned skill set, someone in the early stages of this hobby is right to question their own judgment. Like someone once said (can't remember who of the top of my head) It's like taking your car to a mechanic because its making a "funny" noise, you have no idea what it is but he can tell you within seconds of hearing it, not because he has better hearing than you, he just knows from experience.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Wrong, your ears are the only ones that matter!!!Yeah The History Kid I definitely will do that but still don't trust my own ears that much.

11.2 channels vs 9.2 channels.I could not see a difference between the 6011 and 7011 that justified the price difference. At $729 the 6011 is sort of a unique deal right now.
I was thinking about the 11.2 7011 for
bi-amping mains for 2 channel enjoyment. Just not sure it's going to be worth the price increase from what the 6011 is selling for.
That's a great price!

Their products are factory refurbished so you may be getting a unit in better shape than new out of box.
I have bought two receivers from them in the past, both performed flawlessly and didn't have a scratch on them. My Pioneer Elite came with a 3 year warranty that I upgraded to a 5 year warranty. I plan on keeping it a while. I have been looking at the 7011 myself.
BTW, that 6011 shows $729. as of this posting..

I still really like my RF 7ii's. Mostly used for surround sound H/T listening. Threy are eq'd down slightly and paired with 2, SW 12/300's. I think they sound quite nice and I got them dirt cheap.I got the Axioms in a deal. The deal was an Outlaw 7700, Outlaw 990 and the Axioms for $750. The Outlaw 7700 seems to be worth more than $750, and now I can sell the 990 and the Axioms. I doubted/ that this was the place to sell the Axioms, but you never know. I know nothing about them. And I figured that if anyone here did want them, I would throw them out there and find out. They sell for $5,500 new, and I found some similar sales over $2,000, which made me think that if I got crazy lucky and someone both wanted them and had a pair of RF-7 i, then a straight up trade would get me my RF-7 and give someone a really good deal.
The whole goofy part was because in offering Axioms here I felt a bit like the guys with the white vans offering these really awesome speakers. So I was trying to make fun of myself for offering Axiom speakers here.

Ha! That's funny! Okay, who is it? We're on "Candid Camera," right?

The only point of lament was that we aren't allowed to discuss politics with people out here in the open. Kind of like, "We'd enjoy conversing with you."
How does anything in a speaker forum become a political topic or even need a place for such discussions, got to Fox News or CNN forums, have it with people that can truly hang, don't be a "wuss" about it and hide in a speaker forum.
Lounges are put in topic specific forums for people that can not or will not stay on topic, people like you and now me i guess but after this post it will no longer be me. If you wish to talk/type with me here it will be about Klipsch speakers when i have a question and or problem which as you can see from my post count is rarely which speaks to the quality of this speaker line.
