  1. Hi there, that the same amp. I got the toggle replaced to the original slide switches. Other than that it's the same. Hate to let it go but I need budget to have my other PP tube restored. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  2. Wolfbane, I seem to feel we are in the same seat, aren't we? Proof that you always react to my "wife" post, hehe.. but who isn't? Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  3. Maynard, I bought 3 amps and need to unload. 2 tube PP amps and 1 solid state. And the other tube PP just arrived hence I haven't listen to them side by side. I posted the scott based on the order I got the amps. As of now no preference yet but having 5 amps (3 new and 2 old to me) in the house now is just crazy (so she said). 7. Anybody kind enough to let me audition an eico? Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  8. It's expensive to audition things if you need to buy them then sell afterwards. But that's what I have now. After I hear the eico and still not satisfy I'll head to decware which is 2 hours from here. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  9. Not sure if you can use hf-81 as a pre amp. Last I hear the eico was used as a pre mp driven by el34 (again not sure) power amp. But I am trying integrated amp first as one box solution, so hf-81 will do. Just need to know it's sonic signatire. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  10. Right now just trying things out, got me 3 amps to try later this week may be. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  11. Maynard, the eico amp (not sure what model) is hunting me. I heard this 7 years ago back in my country driving kg4s. I just need to confirm this is what I am looking for. If not, I'll be happy with a SET amp. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  12. Ok got some pm's here overnight. I am accepting best offer just be keen and let me know when you prefer to get the unit, thanks. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  13. Liking your sense of humor there, she actually created a user name just like that and she's well asleep now and so should I
  14. Just thought of this, willing to trade eico hf-81 (just trying things out right now)
  15. Jim, looking for a local sale on this and will post this on craigslist. I am thinking of putting $550 (or reasonable) to recuperate my loses. Anybody interested here may call or text me at six30six664one42 (cris)
  16. Sorry, 2nd and 3rd amp still in transit. This is a panic sale as stipulated above. Hope I won't regret it later on.
  17. Bumped to $400, obo Hi, being new to tube amplifier I did some impulsive buying and bought 3 amps. I am letting go of the other 2 amps. I have tested this and make a demo (make more sense heard via headphones). Item is in Lombard, IL 60148. Please help me unload or my wife will kill me if she ever finds out Scott lk48b and Klipsch - Playing In A Sentimental Mood https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQJxirm9fKg
  18. Hi I used to do critical listening 3 meters from the speaker which triangulates the speaker position. But I also listen from the kitchen (about 6 meters more) when I do food preparation. Like any other audiophile, there will always be the question of which one is better (it's a perspective of choice actually)? I am now in the market for either used scott or eico plus the recommended tube amps from this thread. Let's see...
  19. I read somewhere that KG4 was the best of the KG series, that makes me a proud owner [emoji3] Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  20. Yes they are. Any reason of interest for this speaker model? Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  21. Point taken, the amp would specifically be used for jazz listening at conversation level. Still looking around.
  22. I've been reading this a lot in members profile sig. This may be my final destination later on together with CW but for now, those tubes alone will eat up my budget. Where can I audition this marvelous amps, anybody from Chicago or near me?
  23. Quick google said it's 94db sensitive. I don't really know this technically but I know its easier to drive compare to usual 89db rating of modern speakers. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
