The volume controls inching up, my heads bobbing up and down so hard I
can feel the chipmunks banging against my skull wall.

I'm still not sure if it's the balanced issue or if it's because of the
burned speaker post.. it seems worse in that channel. Plus there was
this huge spark inside the amp. So now I don't even want to connect it
to the speakers. I just want to get rid of it. Not to mention it smells
like cigarette smoke when I have it on. I think I'm going to just
get a Rotel or HK etc.. Tired of this no name brand amp..

That's ok, I'll just wait and get a integrated amp or something. I'd probably mess it up and fry something..
-
Time to fork out more money for a preamp I guess, sigh.. I just want to sit down and enjoy the speakers.
-
Yes I have the spikes but not the boxes.

Asking $1200 from forum members, I advertised them for $1250 on
craigslist. Very good condition. Reason I'm selling is that they're
overkill for my small basement. Plus, I just can't get used to the horn
sound.

your running unbalanced, right ....??
check your input wiring
What do you mean unbalanced?

I set all the jumpers to off and the noise persists. It's not really
a hum but a snow noise. It does it with the preamplifier disconnected
so I don't think it's that. I was also wondering, what's that middle
post for where the inputs connect, could that be the cause of the snow noise? Am I supposed to have a ground connected?

Too late... I just returned from getting the amp. What a waste of time,
it's very powerful but the speakers make humming noise even with the
gain turned down.

Cool, if he hasn't sold them yet I'll get them. Anything is better than my Sharp mini component system lol.

Somebody has a QSC USA900 amplifier (900 watts) for $150. Is that a
good deal? How good/bad is QSC compared to Rotel, Creek, etc?
-
How much should I offer for the 4240? That is well within my budget.. I
was looking at the Rotel 1080 but then I'd need a pre-amp which would
put me slightly out of my budget (about $1k max). $275 sounds a lot
nicer

Try these.. I got them from the NFL Films soundtrack, it has a lot of good songs.

Would this have enough current for the RF7's? I'm just looking for the
cheapest receiver that will work well with the RF7s. Where does it say
in the specs what the current power is? Will it just say rated for 4
ohms etc?

Just thought I would pass this on for a fellow Klipsch owner that isn't
on the forums. He has a RC-7 center channel for sale and he's in the DC
area. His email is xinupe@aol.com

I guess it was just the cd, it only pops with that cd.
By the way the seller also has a RC-7 for sale if anybody's interested.
-
Do you think it's safe to use this amp with the speakers? It seems to
work GREAT but I heard this loud POP when I was playing a song at low
volume. Not sure if it was the cd player or what..
-
Ok, got it working. I guess that amp was broken. Thanks for the help.
-
Ok.. I hooked them up and all I hear is the horns and very faint.
Nothing coming out of the woofers. Is my amp just too small? I'm going
to get a Rotel or Harman Kardon soon but I just wanted to try the
speakers.

How do I hook these up since they have 4 connectors on the back?
What are the most reliable Klipsch computer speakers?

Just wondering, I used to have some Promedia 5.1s but the amp had to be replaced twice. I would really like to have some Klipsch speakers again because I loved the sound, but I am afraid the amp would die. Are the 2.1s reliable?
