  1. Hi Bruce ! That's right I am from france, living 5 kilometers from Paris. About the room, of course it could be better but actually it is quite alright...5 meters X 4 meters. Having a room specially dedicated to music would be so nice but unfortunately, we do what we can, don't we. Whatever as I said it was so enjoyable to hear the speakers with a so good sound now that I made the mods on the crossover and my amplifier cleaned and recaped after 22 years of use... I am so greatful to this forum because I found the crossover on here and for a cheap investment and only 1 hour work, it has changed a lot of things !! Georges
  2. Hi everybody Finally i have got back my madrigal proceed where the display has been replaced by a new one, fabricated by a friend of mine and my amplifier also recaped. Now i have to say the sound is just perfect ! all is clearer, precise, and the bass don't roll like they were. It's all tight and equilibrated. Now it is difficult to say if this is the result of the mod applied to the speakers or to the new components on the amplifier. I guess the sum of the two... Whatever, i am very happy ! Maybe now I have to make several tests, concerning the position of the speakers, closer to the back wall or further, but by now all is fine. Here's a jjoined picture of the entire system... of course if you have any suggestions, be my guest please Thank you for reading me and please excuse me for my low englishvocabulary... I used to be quite good years ago but I don't speak it a lot these days so i am missing words...
  3. ...And I should have ask in my previous post ... did you have the crossover mods in your speakers and, if so, what do you think about it ? Georges
  4. Thank you to all of you for giving me advices and comments. To Pio actually I didn't have the chance yet to test it as I don't have my amplifier for the moment... It is in the hands of a specialist who is changing the capacitors, resistances and some other components as the amplifier is 22 years old and with no doubt, needs a little bit of "refreshment"... And,same thing with my cd player where there's been a little problem with a zener and a regulator gone bad, provoking the death of the display... As it is impossible to get a replacement display, my friend is building a new one that can fit it the player (madrigal proceed PCD). I guess I will get the two items back at the end of june and I am longing so much for it, as it is very hard for me not to ear any music for such a long time... I will give a report as soon as All is in its place in my home. Thanks for your concern once again Georges
  5. Thank you so much Pio. !!! In fact i Had already done the mods and wanted to know if I did well as the tweeter was a different model. Now another thing concerning the damping of the closet. I have read in different forum taht some did it and some did not. What do you think about It. I have already done some mods as: silicone isolation of the inside box and foam reenforcement of the back panel with a 16mm second panel replacement of the cable plugs ready to go when I will get back my amplifier
  6. hello / Salut Though I' ve been reading a lot of subjects in this so good forum, i just got registered by today. So first of all let me say I am impressed by all the knowledge, kindness and sympathy of the members. I am a french owner of Klipsch Heresy I (1984) powered by an Electrocompaniet ECI-1 and the source is a Madrigal Proceed PCD. Those are old materiels but working fine... I got the amplifier recaped last month. Now my concern is about this mod by DrTUBE (salut toubib) My question is does this mod apply to my heresy as the tweeter is NOT a K77M but a K77. So am I supposed to go for it or not ? Thanks to all of you
