  1. All done! 5.4.2 with Denon AVR-X6200W, sounds freaking fantastic! My only issues are bass rattling noises. Lone Survivor at 4K + HDR + ATMOS is arguably better than the movie experience. On 4K, I think HDR is more impressive than the resolution.
  2. It's a Denon AVR-X6200W .. mostly interested in the ATMOS/DTS:X experience ..
  3. Basically, i'm trying to decide of another RP-240S center that back wall would be worth it .. aka 6.2.4 .. and would the channel be used effectively by the RX ..
  4. Yes, 5.2.4 and Yes, a finished basement. The stairwell wall is what my question is really about .. how to get rear surrounds back there effectively. I was wondering if a single rear surround made sense in the middle of that back wall instead of 2 since one of those 2 would have to be right up against the stairwell wall.
  5. Oh sorry, the gray area is a stairwell .. the seating area is the 3 squares in the center .. probably should have clarified that Edit: I uploaded a revised pic.
  6. Hey guys, laying out my room. This is what I have so far (attached). Any suggestions what to do about rear surrounds? Was going to skip them but now that I got a Denon AVR-X6200W for cheap they are back on the table. If I put two RP-240S's back there half of the right speaker would be hitting that wall in close quarters (which is stairs). I thought about a single RP-140S in a 6.2.4 configuration, is that possible or even worth it? Seems that floor standing would be really close together. Thoughts? 2 x RP-260F 2 x RP-240S 1 x RP-440C 2 x R-112SW 4 x CDT-5650-C II
  7. I got a deal on the lot .. but I was looking at the 440 anyway for fitment purposes into my shelf ..
  8. I got a deal on everything .. a divorce sale .. stuff started showing up yesterday .. you think I should put the 280's in still?
  9. Thanks all for the help! Everything is on the way! Decided on a 5.2.4 system, here's the final: 1 x Denon AVR-X6200W 2 x RP-260F 2 x RP-240S 4 x CDT-5650-C II 2 x R-112SW 1 x RP-440C
  10. We just finished it last night .. yea .. totally agree .. I wonder what Season 2 will be like? If it's more of the same it will get boring .. if those kids aren't cast it won't be the same .. I love the mix of Goonies meets Poltergeist/X-Files.
  11. I'm setting up a 5.2.4 system in a 16x14 room ... bought a 6200 on eBay for under $1200 new ... after looking at the 6300 video and specs that were posted this morning on the Denon website it seems like the only real advantage (for my 5.2.4 system) is the 5GHz wifi upgrade, other than that it seems very HEOS centric which I really don't care anything about (but cool tech for some no doubt).
  12. All, The Denon AVR-X6200W can be had for under $1300 now, there is a new AVR-X6300H about to be available for $2299. Would you guys grab the 6200 at the reduced price or wait for the 6300?
  13. SPOILER! Dude, not cool. (I forced myself to not read it, trying to reply without looking up)
  14. RP-260F's ... http://www.klipsch.com/products/reference-premiere-center-speakers#rp-440c
  15. Also .. in the ATMOS brief by Dolby, they commend that in-ceiling speakers be 2 times the ear height of the listener for proper dispersion .. otherwise they recommend the reflective speakers .. so with an 8 foot ceiling, that's about 1.25-1.5 times the height .. so confused on which way to go with these ..
  16. Okay, so everything I've read and am reading says to dump the reflecting speakers and just install the ceiling speakers. Was hoping to avoid that but now reconsidering. Would the CDT-5650-C II's be a good match to accompany the following? RP-160F x 2 RP-250C or RP-440C RP-240S R-112SW
  17. RP-250C vs RP-440C, which would you pick? 250 has bigger drivers .. 440 has more but smaller .. thoughts? Note a RP-450C won't fit .. has to be one of these two.
  18. I guess what I'm wondering is how much I'll loose with the Klipsch RP140SA and the ceiling tiles .. maybe I'll just replace 6 or 9 of the center tiles with something more "reflective". I haven't done any room treatments but this seems easy. Thoughts?
  19. I'm doing the same. There's actually quite a bit of ATMOS stuff out there, even on Netflix and Amazon streaming. Also, I understand the newer receivers will upmix non-ATMOS to use those speakers. Would love to know how that works.
  20. Hey guys, In standard residential drop ceilings, is that material reflective? I'm looking at the RP-140SA. My home theater may move in the next couple years so didn't want to go with in-ceiling speakers (yet). Thanks for any help!
  21. The RP-440c (4 x 4's) vs the RP-250c (2 x 5.25's) .. is this basically going to be a wash in this size room? I just measured, doesn't look like the RP-450c will fit .. might have to get another bench ...
  22. My goal was to do the ceiling speakers later. I was really more concerned with if there is enough content to actually take advantage of the Atmos tech. Okay, great info! Please keep the recommendations coming, you guys are great!!!
