  1. Mr. Garrison, you seem to be an expert in audio I see. Thanks for the word on ST.-Saens Organ Symphony, i'll check it out 'a.s.a.p', there's something about "Also Sprach Zarathustra" that makes me feel...victorious (i almost ripped off Lt. Colonel Kilgore). However, Pearl Jam - "Binaural" was indeed recorded with a binaural head (therefore it's definitely not "just the catchy name of the album"). I did my homework, I knew Pearl Jam wasn't up to something as lame as using a catchy name for an album title. http://www.sonymusic.com/artists/PearlJam/chords/binaural.html -- Mike G "Disneyland. F--k, man, this is better than Disneyland."
  2. I have one binaural recorded album, oddly enough it's Pearl Jam - "Binaural". Additionaly, Richard Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra from 2001: a space odyssey was recorded in the binaural format. My questions to anyone who's heard binaural sound: Does binaural audio make a difference? (subjective) Does binaural have to be heard on headphones versus loudspeakers? What are some albums you own recorded with the binaural "head"? ------------------ Mike G
  3. Live Music: See less and less every year. Shows i've seen include: Dave Matthews Band, Live, Local H, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Third Eye Blind, Bush, No Doubt, Green Day, Pantera, Beastie Boys, Weezer, Rage Against the Machine, Outkast, Stone Temple Pilots, Sponge, Counting Crows, Wallflowers, Silverchair, Beck and Tenacious D. Most Common Venue: The Rave: Milwaukee, WI (spring/winter) Small Indoor smoky place, holds 1500?. Up close and personal with the smaller bands here. small club sound. Alpine Valley: East Troy, WI (summer/fall) Huge 40,000+ capacity, outdoor venue, covered/lawn. Not very open, crappy sound, very fun, bands seem to love the atmosphere. The lawn is nice, great music, a blanket of stars above, grass, but awful in the rain. Latest show I've been to is WEEZER (=w=) in Madison, WI at the Alliant Energy Center. Oval arena, GA, seats, open floor, fun. The concert was outstanding, the energy from the crowd last December was near overwhelming. Aren't drunk college students fun? ------------------ Mike G
  4. Sony SA-WM40 That's what I'm looking at, I don't know about an extra amp, I just want to hook it up to my receiver and get a good sound. p.s. Thanks for the replies ------------------ Mike G
  5. quote: You will benefit from having a sub. The Heresy's are great, but not known for real strong bass. What's a good subwoofer for a broke college kid?????? ------------------ Mike G
  6. Hello to everyone who reads this. I have a pair of Klipsch Heresy HW O speakers. They sound great and I want to know if there is anything I can do to keep them sounding good, or know if they need any kind of maintenance. Are these even good compared to the stuff that's out today or yesterday? I have a Sony DE-545 Receiver, a sony cd player and sony surround speakers. Another question I have is if a subwoofer would be a good investment for my room. I am on the second story and don't want to bother my family too much downstairs. If I get one will it help the woofers of my front speakers to last longer? Any feedback can help because I am clueless about this kind of thing. ------------------ Mike G
