  1. I'm a big fan of thiers. OK Computer is my favorite CD from them, but they have some great live music out there too. They are truly a group that isn't a clone band. Everything they do is original and fresh. Unfortunately, that road leads to less airplay, but that's the rules of today's music. Eric
  2. I just bought a SC-1 from www.vanns.com for $138.00 and it included shipping and handling. It was a special they had for that day (which I don't know how much I believe), but the next day it was more expensive. Eric
  3. Well, I guess that's why they call us newbies. I went home @ lunch and sure enough, the dts was turned off by default. I turned it on and it played perfect. Thanks again boa, Eric
  4. The only thing I haven't done is check the DVD player to see if is in DTS mode. I didn't know that it had to be turned on. I'll check this evening and let you know how it turns out. thanks
  5. I just went and picked up my new Shrek DVD. I went to play it in its DTS mode and I had no sound. It played fine in all of the other 5.1 modes. I have an Onkyo DS 595 and a Panasonic DVD player (which does play DTS tracks). Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong? Thanks in advance, Eric
  6. I am having a dilemma. I have KSB 1.1's for my front and surround speakers currently. I am relatively pleased with them. Of course, I will upgrade them over time. My problem is I have a center that doesn't match the Klipsch's (Advent) from another system. I want to get a good center, but I don't know if I should get the KSC-C1 like some people tell me, or get the RC-3 that I would really like. I know the timbre isn't quite matched (Reference vs. Synergy), but will it make that big of a difference? Thanks for everyone's help... Eric
  7. I've heard it mentioned often to test your system, but how do I get a copy?
  8. Thanks for the information on the mounting brackets. I was unsure how to mount them in the configuration I have in my living room...oops, sorry...home theater. I went ahead and bought the 1.1's from ubid. I figure I can upgrade later and take the front 1.1's and make them my side speakers in my 7.1 system. I think I have about 6 months until I blow all my money again since I'm such a freaking addict on my ht now.
  9. I am just getting into HT and I would like someone's advice who has more experience with these speakers. I have just seen the KSB 1.1 on ubid for a pretty good price and I was considering getting them for my front and surround speakers. I would probably get the matching center channel (kscc1)later. How would these sound if they were hooked up to a decent receiver (I just bought an Onkyo TXDS595)? Also, what is a good sub that would go with this setup?
