  1. Confused. Isn't that happening at the sub when you run two RCA's? The wireless module is a single line out and in.
  2. Yep. Thanks. I picked up on 3.5mm.
  3. Thanks! Feel like an idiot now. Something so simple. I guess it was the other two pre out options that had me second guessing.
  4. Just picked up a Klipsch R10SWi to add to my Epic CF-2's. I have a Rotel RA-1570 integrated amp. Not sure if I can use the wireless transmitter since I don't have a single line out option. I have a Pre amp out, #11 on attached photo, and two more pre amp outs that currently have jumpers in them, # 15&18 on attached photo. Needing some help in determining how I would connect the sub. I think #15&18 are used for components such as an external DAC or equalizer and #11 is my only option for a sub which means I can't use wireless transmitter. Is that right?
  5. No doubt in making sure the cartridge is aligned properly. Damage to vinyl and sound quality are greatly affected by an improperly aligned cart. I'll research the R3SM. Thank you!
  6. Right now I'm set up for mm only. Not in a position finacially to upgrade my phono pre to MC. It's on the short list of upgrades to get but not possible at this time. Thanks.
  7. Ive read that the shape of a Shibata will get more out of the groove. The blue I have is a nude elliptical and it sounds great but a little weak on the mid range even with the Epic CF-2's which are notorious for the hot horn. The only other option I've seen is a nude fine line. Conical I've read is not a good option.
  8. Wanting to upgrade from an Ortofon Blue and need some input from more experienced TT gurus. Thinking about this Audio Technica, https://www.audio-technica.com/cms/cartridges/1d03e057c2ad819c/index.html or the Ortofon Black, https://www.ortofon.com/ortofon-2m-black-p-329 Big price difference between the two for the same shibata stylus. The Audio Technica has a wider frequency response than the Ortofon. 20,000hz-27,000hz where the Black is 20,000hz-20,000hz. What other differences should I be looking for? Will be installing in a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit paired with a Rotel RA-1570 integrated and Epic CF-2's. Which one would you recommend? Thanks!
  9. Not young just married for 23 years and had to put my hobby on the back burner until the kids were on the downhill slope of higher education. I purchased a Rotel integrated about eight months ago. It has a wolfson onboard dac that I assume would be sufficient for what you're discussing. Not to saavy with all the digital options available but I do prefer media I can touch and show when guests are over. I guess that's the 1970's kid in me showing through. Appreciate the streamer suggestions. I have an older computer in a closet not being used now. It has a great soundcard, I had it built for gaming, and I was actually using that some years ago to digitize LP's through the tape out RCA's on my Kenwood with Nero software into lossless wav files and burn CD's. Extremely tedious process and I got bored with it after a while.
  10. It's hard to pick up on an iPhone video but there is much more detail in the vinyl. I have about 300 LP's in my collection and about 200 CD,'s. I'm torn between upgrading my CD player to one with balanced interconnects or just slowly replacing what CD's i can with vinyl versions. A new disc player with XLR outs is going to run me over $1500 and I'm not sure if it will sound any better than my turntable.
  11. Both are Depeche Mode Music For The Masses releases. The CD came from the same analog master as the album. If anything since the CD was released after the LP version you'd expect it to be better.
  12. First is CD , after source switch is vinyl. Both played at same volume with tone bypass on. Can you tell a difference?
  13. Id like to get them too. My sound room is just to small to set them up properly. They'd sound really good though because there would'nt be any white noise coming from my wife to interfere with the clarity. It'd be silent in my house at least for a month or two.
  14. I wasn't sure where to post this. I've never posted anything that was for sale off another site before. Sorry about that. Should I delete? I don't want to break the rules.
  15. Ran across these on my local Craigslist site. They look amazing. Thought I'd share in case some one is looking. Price listed is 4K obo for the pair. Wish my sound room was big enough to hold them. https://houston.craigslist.org/ele/d/klipsch-hornes/6679314710.html
  16. Funny you mention damping. I just started to research this when comparing specs on my old Kenwood amp to the new Rotel. I've been wondering why my drivers barely move now compared to how active they were with the Kenwood. Damping also explains why I popped a dustcap and separated the cone from the coil at not even close to the rated power capacity of the speaker with the Kenwood. Luckily the Epics were repaired by Klipsch under warranty and for the duration of my use of that amp, especially after the warranty ran out, I kept everything at lower volumes to prevent a reoccurance. After getting XO's rebuilt by Crites and buying a replacement driver, just in case, I bit the bullet and replaced the amp with the Rotel. Best blind decision I've ever made. Lol. I wonder how many speakers Klipsch has repaired under warranty where the failure was no fault of Klipsch components used but rather inferior equipment used to drive them?
  17. Anyone have a Rotel integrated with the BT dongle in front panel USB? I can connect to the amp via the dongle and it will play about 5-10 seconds then disconnect. No problems connecting to same USB with cable. Is there a fix or software update I'm missing? Thanks!
  18. I'd also consider low frequency at higher volumes and the effect it has on sheetrock. That will probably transfer to a wall mounted rack and straight into your TT as well.
  19. I have Magical Mystery Tour on CD and decided to purchase another copy on vinyl since the other LP's I replaced sounded so good. IMO there's no comparison. Of course I wet clean and vacuum every LP right out of the sleeve before it ever touches my platter. No noise and no hiss. Apples and oranges though. Some prefer digital and other anolog.
  20. Replace those old 60's LP's with new remastered vinyl. Most are selling for $20 and are well worth it. That's what I did and they are some of the best sounding LP's I have going through my Rotel RA1570 with tone bypass on. The Remastered Mono version of the White Album is like having John and Paul in my listening room singing directly to me. Simply wonderful.
