  1. I will be editing some pages in the future, so I apologize in advance as it may appear I'm jumping around to the people that are in this thread. This will be the first referenced page to help others. How do Jubilees come? Well a white van shows up with a shady character named Cory that tells you he has some leftover speakers from a new theater down the road. He may seem untrustworthy, but appearances can be deceiving as he is the stork of the speaker world. Jubilees come double stacked as you can see in the photo with my son and on a pallet. Klipsch does an outstanding job of packing these. They are shrink wrapped to the pallet, not bolted so I would not recommend ridding the pallet jack at speed around corners. Nothing like unloading the banked truck, riding the pallet jack and turning a corner that tightens with shrink wrapped pickles and mayonnaise jars. Back on point, I strongly suggest inspecting them prior to shady Cory getting your signature and driving off. (For those that are really wondering who this Cory guy is at this point, Cory is my dealer that I ordered my Jubilees from and is one of the most upstanding guys I have ever had to the pleasure to work with.) {The boxes when stacked on top of the pallet are 74” tall. I had room to spare without needing to break down prior to wheeling them into the garage. I have a standard 2 stall garage. The length of the bass bin box is 45” and both the horn and bass bin are 28” wide. Most standard doors are about 32” so you should be able to slide these through without needing to unbox. }
  2. Yikes! Its almost a mini trauma, however from now on I will surely respect them. The boy and I are chilling at home for the day, so his music is currently being played. I went to make us breakfast and and I heard the sound of the remote being slid off the table. I reckon that Usain Bolt would have had nothing on me for how fast I cleared the room to get that nuclear launch controller out of my sons hands. Its too early for me to shit my pants again. I haven't even had my coffee. I took a lot of pics with measurements! I will look into those and post them in a few.
  3. I've always been one to learn things the hard way. I was tired and just wanted to see if everything worked. Honestly I was doing just that, slowly increase volume, nothing, check x/y/z rinse repeat. When I clicked the output button, I figured it must go into settings and from there I could increase it. Lesson learned! What is odd is it has the button and functions on the crossover, but when I'm playing around via the software, I'm unable to find the setting. I will tread carefully. Glad you liked it! The son will be the luckiest kid in the neighborhood with wheels on the bus being played through jubilees. The ringing subsided mostly this morning. I've been around a hunting family most of my life, if I were to compare it was comparable to shooting a 45 without hearing protection. I have a few tricks that I do that lessons the ringing and can dampen my tinnitus. Should heal fine. I have it quietly playing right now, trying to just put some hours into the prepro and amps while I go into the settings again. I'm not going to lie, when I reached up to power it on I was actually very gun shy. I could legitimately feel a tingle in my legs, fight of flight. With the amount of time I had on my hands, I actually got out the labeler and labeled every single cable. I then checked, rechecked over and over. I also screenshoted every setting and sent the crossover settings off to ensure they were crossed correctly by another. I think this is actually a really good idea though. Going forward, if I ever hookup future speakers, this will be on my do list.
  4. Got about everything done. Once I move the toys I will try to take a few pics tomorrow. I hooked everything up and no sound...wife took the kid out to play and let me fiddle.... so I started fiddling with the new Prepro, I know it's working, can hear the clicks as the capacitors change pending on the mode. Try a few different inputs and nothing. I then crank the gains on the amp way up and I slowly turn the volume up and sure enough there's the sound. Though it's very pulled back. I can see the input meters dancing a storm on the crossover, but the outputs had nothing. I went in with the laptop and rechecked and everything looked good. So.... I see this button on the crossover that says output.... I push it.... I then shit my pants..... I got the full volume of what these things do and was standing 1ft away. Gains up and prepro was at 95/100. I actually fell over and quickly got up to grab the volume pot. Thank god the kid wasn't home. So, when I'm less tired I will be playing with things.... very carefully. With ears ringing still after an hour later I put them away after the incident. I needed a shower...
  5. Yes it is! Starting him young with good music and great sound. He loves opening the mail or amazon boxes. When I moved these inside he screamed for almost 5 mins straight. .....or maybe it was me screaming
  6. Oh boy! I think we may be busy for awhile.
  7. Not quite 50 Shades of Grey, but close...
  8. One Year!! Thats it I'm going on the lawn from now on....Now if I actually did have to wait a year, I think you may see me in skynews.
  9. Oh for sure. It's a hiccup, but I know what I'm getting so it will be worth the wait. Had I known it would be his long, I would still order them, but the expectation going in would be easier. Something that now future buyers can ask their dealers before hand and get a better picture. That way there will not be disappointment of any kind. I see this also as an opportunity for klipsch to possibly adopt a more agile approach to production. Audiophiles are becoming more common and there may be a bigger future for custom orders. At the same time not many people would be willing to wait translating to lost revenue. Another option would be to have two of each veneered in hand. While they are large, I would assume they would have warehouse room for them. It's not like they have an expiration date. Knowing you could have a pair drop shipped within the week could be a selling point. My .02 Side note - I've been running without any speakers since November. Nothing but one tiny Bluetooth speaker and the TV. Thank god I have my IEMs. I also have been to a few listening sessions.
  10. Responded when I wrote wall of text. I'd repeat that I couldn't be happier than purchasing them through you. I'm very thankful for your knowledge and help with all this. 82 emails with lots of information and possibly 1 or 2 delivery updates. Hah
  11. Pushing to 4 months actually. I actually believe I've been pretty light hearted throughout this process. At no time have I taken a chunk of someones rear, or rather gotten upset. At most, its probably disappointment, as yes I'm very eager to hear these and have them playing in my home. Keep in mind, the WAF is not very high, when considering the circumstance. Explaining the amount you deducted from the ol bank account with no results is not an easy conversation. Id like to say that the pictures are to make the best of the situation, as I anticipate their arrival. Its not my intention to be whining, rather just excited as I'm awaiting something I really want. So as to why the pictures of waiting for a longer than expected wait time? When purchasing, I was informed that it would be much, much shorter than this. Maybe there is a break down in the communication and Klipsch should notify dealers what the expectation is when buying a custom order? This isn't something my dealer, nor myself should be blamed for. For perspective, I've ordered a vehicle with several customizations and had it delivered in a shorter time frame. I did my fair share of homework before I bought these and I may be wrong, but I don't believe I saw any other purchasers that have waited this long. While these Jubilees are somewhat custom with the cherry front, they are not full mahogany veneered, so I believe the year wait comparison is quite a different circumstance. Now if Klipsch feels comfortable broadcasting that a year "could" be expected, then that is fine as well. I believe it would be Klipsch's due diligence to update the dealers that this is the expectation. While I have no idea how it would affect sales of the Jubilee if this would be there standard, I would probably considered other options more closely if this was the relative time-frame. In addition to the above, there was at least one possibly two other owners that received Jubilees before mine, when I had placed my order before them. While mine may have a custom finish, the difference in arrival isn't weeks, its months. Now for the turning point that caused some disappointment. While I'm happy that Klipsch has sold more Jubilees since the start of this thread, due to the incoming orders, mine were again delayed because it was convenient to build several at once. I'm sure this also drives down build costs, but it also threatens integrity. It doesn't make for a pleasant buying experience when you find out that they are delayed again and in addition that they still haven't started. Keep in mind those boxes above are not mine. I'm aware mine are probably shipping very very soon, but I still do not have a delivery date. Now on a positive note, I'm actually quite happy with the buying experience. My dealer has been rock solid with responses and has been on the horn to get these things done. By no part has this been his issue. In addition, I did receive a relocation of the wires to the back of the bass bins, so this is something that is really made me quite happy. I'm also very happy with how the cherry appear in the pictures. {To answer your questions, yes I have calibrated all the settings to what were specified by Roy. I plan to run REW and adjust as needed from there. I've read through my AVR manual and played with what I can. Somewhat limited on that as you need speakers to go further. I have all of the wires dangling ready for hookup. I do not have other speakers to test and I do not intend to buy some for that general purpose. } This thread started as an advice needed and kind of transformed into more of an experience. In all of the threads I've tracked down, this one probably has the most compiled information with the most contribution from Jubilee owners than I've seen elsewhere. I'm very thankful for this and hope it brings more awareness that these speakers are available and do indeed exist. I want this to stay positive in which other owners or future prospects can research and post questions. I've found archived caches of the old forum, yes I know it existence, so I think this is a great opportunity to create central place for others to gravitate to. I also intend to do a major edits to the first post with links to pages within this thread and others to help find the correct information. At the end of the day, we all want good audio and no bullshit, if I can help in some form of achieving this, I will.
  12. Hope they won't mind how I look, I may appear a bit aged from the wait.
  13. Had the moving straps sitting on the workbench since February....... Crossing my fingers that I see them early next week.
  14. Ah makes sense now. That would also be a good place. I only had one photo of their backs so maybe the photo I had are not true klipsch as well? This is why I leaned on the side mounts since it's back had slots. But then when you look at the new ones they are solid. Hmmm.
  15. While I'm a sucker for Cherry, I have to admit the walnut came out really well. Very impressed with what klipsch did. Usually when I see a heavy grain wood veneer like that it appears faux, but not these. Not to take away, but the blacks still look good in their own right as well. They appear menacing in their own way.
  16. Something I'm very happy that I asked for. Commercial guys asked for as well, so future buyers can thank Cory and myself for pushing the envelope. Im still iffy on whether or not I will do grills. The black and center piece looks really good. Better than I expected. I probably wouldnt want the k402 in a box. I think that would make them appear just that much bigger. Having it naked gives it that look you just don't see. Honestly, I don't think there's anything else I could ask for. I like that the outside is painted with the black (durex?). We're getting the new and improved k691. Sure it's not a TAD, but I can't complain. They could veneer the whole thing, but as others and yourself said, the price would skyrocket. At this point I wouldn't change one thing. Each corner is flush against the wall, I'm not sure where else they would put it without this issue. These things also weigh a ton, literally. Once the wires are on I'm not planning on moving them. I wouldn't have wanted the wire terminals any other place, this is perfect.
  17. Correct. New location for wires. I had requested it early and it appears I'm not alone so they made the change. I'm very happy with the change as I have little fingers in my house and was afraid that they would grab the terminals and the wire inside. Very nice change.
  18. Got to admit those are the best clones I've seen to date. Good job. Would love to see some Sweeps once you get them all tucked in tight for benchmark comparison.
  19. I'd say never say never. While I'm sure the cost is much higher do to the increased labor, once they do more it would become more routine. This could always be an option. It may be a very expensive upgrade, one that most would never choose, but sure why not. If klipsch could sell more, turn a profit I see no reason not to.
  20. WAF wins all, just thankful they have Cherry and I'm not stuck with zebra.
  21. That additional top would lead me to believe these are not klipsch, but DIY? There was only one mahgony pair and they don't seem to look like this.
  22. Good to know, thanks for sharing.
  23. Good idea, I actually I started a thread here a few weeks ago to find horn loaded sub that would compliment the jubilee and decided on the lil wrecker. (This helped pass time during the initial delay) Really would prefer to hear them first to see if I feel that a subwoofer is needed or if I'm going to hold off until we move again. If I find out they are delayed again I have something else in mind and would change and not do a tapped horn as for what I have in mind, I would need a bit more upper extension.
