  1. Thanks, guys.

There is just short of 12' between a pair of built-in bookcases on what will be the front wall (across the room from the listening chair). I'll try putting the Forte's in the corners created by the bookcases and out a foot or so, and see what's what.

Have a safe, healthy and Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. I apologize if this has been treated (extensively?) elsewhere.

My experience with Klipsch speakers is limited to an old pair of Heresy's a million years ago, and the distressed but wonderful sounding Belles w/ALK original universal xover that I loved with  MC 30's.

New digs, basement music room: 10 x 20 x 8. New electronics: modern tube pre + old school EL34 amp.

What Klipsch speakers now? CW, Forte, Chorus?

Please let me have your thoughts and suggestions.  Thanks in advance.

  3. Local pickup in Greeley, Pike County, PA, or you arrange and pay for crating & shipment. Fabulous sound, lousy cosmetics. The grill cloths don't match, and these babies sorely need to be refinished (if they're part of your main show-off rig).

Aftermarket ALK Universal crossovers (the ALK originals). The stock balancing networks were sold.

The 15" woofer in one bass bin is intermittent (I believe the culprit is a poor connection at the barrier strip on top of the bass bin). I fixed it once before by cleaning the strip and the screw that holds in the wires to the crossover. (The screws are odd, in that there appears to be a plastic insert under the head, seemingly a poor choice for this application).
