  1. One of my coworkers is in the market for a home theater setup and I thought I should run it by some of you. His room is 24X14 with a budget around $2,500 (just for speakers and receiver). I was thinking the Cinema 10 or Cinema 8 as decent candidates, but will those little satellites fill a room of this size?

  2. I'm looking into some room acoustic treatment since I'm also noticing some characteristics. The room I have the RF's in isn't helping in the least; I can hear modal ringing and comb filtering like crazy. From what I've read, treating your first inflection points and using bass traps will significantly help. Check out some threads on room treatment on avs forum if you can't find any here.

  3. I took a ride to my local home theater showroom and was asking the

staff about receivers that could be coupled with 2 RF-7's. I'm

curious if any of you have ever heard of Integra Home Theater (I think

they are the high end Onkyo flavor). I was leaning toward the DTR

    6.6 if any.

The dealer put it this way to me -- with an Integra you won't need the

three year warranty that they supply for each receiver, but you would

have wished you had a three year warranty for the Denon. Thoughts?

  4. I'm extremely impressed with the knowledge base you Klipsch heads have! I will definetly demo some of these amps (the B&K and Sunfire) in the near future and as soon as I start actually making some loot I'll let you know how things went. Still not sure about the dedicated power line issue :-P Thanks for all your help!

  5. Bill,

It's crazy how those amplifiers are so much cheaper than any Halo. More amps from peak to peak is a better idea even if I still wanted to get a subwoofer in the future? Would I need a dedicated line for 200-250 watts per channel? Merry Christmas!!!

  6. I wanted to get a set of RF-7's or RB-75's and use the Denon 3805 as the processor. I am not sure how much power I would need for a future home theater (either 5.1 or 7.1). I was looking at the Parasound Halo A51 which gives 250 watts per channel. If I went this route, would I need a dedicated line for all that power?

The other option with the Halo series is the A52 which gives 125 watts per channel. What do you suggest? I am open to suggestions of other amplifiers as well..so feel free to throw your two cents :)

  7. anyone know what the deal is with the digital signal?? xbox is hooked up to dd51 via fiberoptic monstergame cable. I put star wars episode 1 in and it did not detect any digital signal. says, "PCM OPTICAL." How is this fixed?

    here's what i got:

    promedia 5.1

    dd51

monster game 400X w/ fiberoptic cable

    sony 27" fd trinitron

    Any suggestions?
