struck up a conversation over pumpkin or pumpkin pie filling. She sez, "It doesn't matter if it's not good, it's for my husband"...
we laughed
that's not the one that scared me....

Manila would suck... hot, crowded, too many people

I don't do well in urban environments. Just me. I'm glad there are folks that can tolerate it. Less folks here. lol

not eating is less healthy.

it's a good thing there is 40 miles between Mac's and me
they have the fat/salt ratio just right.
I found the food in HI very salty when I first got there. I think you get desensitized. Spend a few months in salt spray at the beach....

and have a plan for how to use your time. i quit working at a young age and found it exceptionally boring when all of my friends still had jobs. a lot of time -- nobody to spend it with.
I was expecting to die with my bowling/work shoes on. Wrench in hand... I ended up doing a "death watch" on the place. Talk about depressing. I could do whatever I wanted... so I went home. Lots of work to be done. No parts. Didn't matter. They ran all the business off. Only 15 mins to Tucson from there... And they went. I worked there when the place was new and saw it die. 25years later.
the phone call
"Bill, if you have things you want... you best get them NOW. They are boarding up the place"... Should have brought some things that weren't mine... like a drill press. Someone snagged the lane machine. It was a $25,000 item [new]. My air compressor disappeared. not my style paybacks are a ....
enough about that...
I ended up househusbanding. Domestic engineer. I'm good at it. Like it is a different story. Spent half my life cleaning up other people's mess. Custodian deluxe. Still trying to retire. Wife keeps finding things for me to do. I have a list of my own.

My father would tell stories of slaughtering a pig when he was young (early 1900's). He said that they would everything but the oink.
we're getting different animals now. selective breeding and all.
the chickens raised for meat die of heart at 6 months old and are too big to support themselves.
look at veggies. That super sweet corn doesn't taste like corn. I'll stifle a rant.
Good Morning!
Fresh and sunny. Can def tell summer is gone.Entertaining thought of getting a fishing license and going on a killing spree. The large mouth get tossed back... C&R at this lake for them. I usually accidentally catch them. I'm after bluegill. Red-ear are OK for fertilizer and won't be wasted. They tend to be muddy tasting.
about gone thru a pot of coffee. that happens when the weather cools off. Did I mention the wife liking fresh air? I swear she leaves things open just so she can wear sweaters. I tend the opposite. I'm a less clothing person... to a point of modesty. Figured I better qualify that.

eating healthy doesn't mean ya can't eat good
fish and shrimp are considered "fast food". 20min from freezer to mouth... and a side of sauteed veggies.

I'm given to snacking. Wife asked why I don't keep snacks.... Um.... because I eat them
a bag of almonds and some raisins are good by me. I'm death on chips and crackers. I feel bad afterwards, too. Not guilt bad... bad bad

I had a 3egg cheese omelette with salsa, sour cream and 2 slices dry toast for breakfast.
I stay away from Drs. I go once a year for a medical exemption. I'm to the point where if they get hold of me and fix all what's wrong, I'll come out in a box

was just reflecting on how salt and sugar were once highly prized/rare.
Maybe they should have stayed that way?

... there is a magic proportion of fat/sugar and salt that hits all of [taste associated] pleasure centers.
that will blow any diet out of the water.

I will pause at 200, then probably proceed to 190.
don't be surprised if you hit a "plateau" and results slow or stop. Not a dieter. My problem is lack of weight... but, I have a friend who has fought his weight forever. He does keto and lost a significant amt and it stopped. Not because there isn't more to give, either.

Mornin' All
Fall is here. The crisp AM's. It will be in the low 40's this week. Good thing it only lasts for a few minutes. Sunrise fixes that in a hurry. Find myself drinking more coffee to warm up.
Wife likes "fresh air" and leave the windows open. 50` is fresh enough.
Been watching this set of CF-7's, RB-81 II, and a fancy center. The person is splitting them up. Has $1600 of the tall one, $750 for the center and $300 for the RB's. Think I'll keep watching. There's a pair of RB-61 II plus a small sub in Phoenix. Asking $200 and they haven't gone anywhere, either. Looking for something to upgrade the R15M's in the doghouse w/o displacing to much stuff.

I think folks might do better if they change how they think about fast food eateries... What they serve is more akin to candy.
Your first hint there might be a problem is the presence of a nutritional statement.
I feel a rant coming on... better stifle myself now
