  1. Here's one more. Sorry they're so huge. Any suggestions for adding pics to a post topic besides an attachment?
  2. Thanks for your help and your well wishes. Here's another pic attached. I can't figure out how to embed them into the post.
  3. I have solved the shielded sub problem with help of this forum and others, and my some of my own smarts. Turned it sideways and almost all of the purple went away from the TV screen. Then put some shielding material from LessEMF on top and that cured it. Here are some pics of my new "Rediculous" entertainment center with my Klipsch ksw 12 underneath my Sony XBR
  4. Well, you might want to be aware that there are quite a few that are shielded. Yamaha and Polk to name just two. They may not be Klipsch, but Polk makes a decent speaker. I don't know which route I'm going to take. I don't think putting the sub underneath is rediculous. I've seen it done a lot, mainly for the way it hides it. There is a site, LessEMF.com that sells magnetic shielding material. And from searching on Google I've found where one guy used 7 layers of heavy duty Aluminum foil which worked. Yeah, it's not a great situation to be in, but what are you going to do? I guess I didn't do all my homework, you're right.
  5. Though I appreciate the replies, move the sub, and just don't use a sub are rediculous suggestions. As I said, I have a NEW entertainment center, custom designed by me to have the sub underneath the TV. It was expensive and moving it or not using it is not an option. Anybody else?
  6. Does Klipsch make a shielded sub? My 7 yr old 12 inch powered sub is turning my Sony 36"XBR purple under the TV in my new built in entertainment center. any suggestions otherwise? thanks
  7. Anyone interested in a pair of black Klipsch KG 2.2 speakers. They are in excellent condition and sound great. I also have some cool stands to go with them that could be part of the deal. You can email me at grimes@mac.com
  8. I'm having similar problems with my new 36xbr450. I bought a guass meter from lessemf.com and have narrowed the problem down to my receiver and other components which are about a foot and a half above the tv. the meter won't detect the speaker, but I think it's a problem too. Foil definitely won't work. I'm going to buy a product that they have called MagnaShield. It's a MU-Metal that will block offending sources. It's really thin, so you can mount it to a board and place it under your speaker, or under your components which are interfering. I never thought this tv would be this sensitive, nor did I know that components could interfere. I thought guassing was just caused by speakers. Anyway, hth. grimer
  9. Thanks for the info, guys. So let me get this straight. Put it on sub. that's cool, that's where I have it now. And put the low pass all the way up? I have it on about 100 I think now. So go further, like 120 I think is the top or something like that. I have to look? let me know thanks again grimer
  10. I have a yamaha rx-v995. and Klipsch 1.1 speakers. and a ksw-12 sub. should i set it on sub, main or both. right now i have it on sub. what do these settings mean. what's the difference between all of them. and which on should i use. thanks. grimer
  11. One more thing. On the receiver setup, should I set the it to Sub or to both? Should I just let the sub handle the bass or both the mains and the sub, is I guess what it means. Right now I have it just on the sub. thanks
  12. Thanks for the info. But I thought the low pass with bookshelf size speakers should be around 100-120? what do you think?
  13. Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've had my system a couple of years and never really set it up properly. I have a Yamaha RX-V995. KSB-1.1's for main and rears. A KSC-C1 for center. And a KSW-12 for my sub. Set everything to small? What other things should receiver be set to? Bass Extension on or off? Low pass on sub? anything else you can think of thanks, grimer
