  1. Congratulations... prepare yourself for audio bliss.
You need to feed these speakers a quality signal otherwise they may shock you with harshness.
Yep same signal that feeds my CW III's [emoji4]

  2. Sounds great ... get them and let us know (OK; let us "drool.")

BTW ... love New Zealand ... awesome country ... of course I'm biased being from Holland [emoji3]

Yes it is, great country and amazing people

    Holland has great people too

  3. Would you be better off getting original La Scalas shipped to you at a fraction of the price and having room to spare on some premium parts in a new crossover?  I've never heard the LSII and don't know much about the newer crossover(i assume that's the only difference other than aesthetics/thicker MDF? and i guess fresh diaphragms?), but i owned 2 pairs of LSi splits and that k43 woofer added a very meaty sounding mid bass that i loved, just not as low reaching as the standard k33. Overall the bass was tight and accurate.  Instantly recognizable after listening to direct radiators(in my case Chorus II's).  In the end, i needed cash and sold both pairs and kept the Chorus II for overall balance and size, but i regret not keeping 1 pair.  While ugly for home use, the LSi split makes it easy to move to Jubescala in the future either with a K402 on top or a K510 in the top bin motorboard cut out.  You can always have it professionally veneered in the future.  Just a thought.
If you can afford it though, hard to pass up on the LSII beautiful veneers and the split top with grill-VERY SEXY.
Thanks for the advice, if I can get the LS II's for the price im negotiating then in all honesty i couldnt buy an old pair and ship for the any less

The deal is that good, im hoping to cloze this deal today [emoji4]

  4. Good luck
A dealer, did someone trade them in or just a great price on something in stock.

Either way is fine, there built to last, they will outlast all of us.
The Dealer bought them in and never sold them and wants to shift them before he orders new stock

He has had them on demo but very very few hours on them

Klipsch speakers here in NZ have a not so good reputation of being bright and this tarnishes the brand

So people tend to stay away from them, also the price here for LS IIs is around 15k

  5. To me I would say much more midrange and less bass, tighter bass but less that than any Cornwall.

If it's a good price you should buy them, especially if they are at a price you could recover if you did not like them.

I have Cornwall lll's but would love to have the new LaScalas also but no room, I love the look of the thicker cabinet.

I could definitely recover from it, so im happy to pull the trigger, will speak to the dealer today and hopefully will have good news to post in the forum today

  6. What's an amazing price if I might ask?
If you decide against it can I have a look at them please?
I consider the La Scala a different class of speaker than the CW... once you begin adding horn loading into the Low Frequencies, the sound fundamentally changes. I can no long live without it.
Hi Schu im in New Zealand so a little difficult for you to see them, and the price I dont want to jinx it at the moment but lets just say its well worth it

  7. Thanks Tony, I more interested in accurate bass, not a fan of boomy bass

Klipschorns without a corner. Don’t dig as deep as a KHorn but IMO satisfactorily. If you like DEEP bass which is the fad now you can always add a sub.

  8. Hey guys as you are aware I already have an amazing pair of Cornwall III's and love them, but yesterday I was offered a pair of La Scala II's for an absoulute amazing price

So the question is do i buy the La Scala II's

And what differences would I hear

Your thoughts as always are greatly appreciated

    Cheers

  9. I have had klipschorns. Too big for my room. The Cornwalls are perfect. Just need to free up cash right now unfortunately.
Good luck with the sale brother

  10. Thorough thanks.  When I have time I'll begin the process.  I am used to toying with positioning.  I just wasn't sure about the klipsch heritage stuff.  It seems many of the models become anemic in the bass exponentially as they leave the rear wall.
Sounds like a plan, I have mine quite far out from the rear wall and the bass is still phenomenal,

Bass response depends on the room also, but you will find the proper position just takes a little playing with

    Good luck and enjoy

  11. Westcoastdrums, once you have positioned the CWs correctly they will blow you away, I work in AV retail and have listened to many many many speakers and the CWs are breathtaking....

And most people will say only tubes work thats not true I have a 350w SS class A power amp and there is absolutely zero brightness,

Please note the CWs need precise postioning from back/side walls and toe in it may take time

Start by toeing in the tweeter to direct ear alignment

    Then

Move the speaker from the back wall and once the bass sounds snappy then move from the side wall until the mids are clear making sure the tweeter is always directed to your ear position in the sweet spot

A laser pointer or a piece of string helps with this

After all this if the speaker sounds a little harsh on the high end treble then move the toeing out but slight increments of cm's or even mm's

Please be patient as the guys on this forum will tell you, i asked for advice and nearly gave up thinking the brightness was a speaker problem its not its a positioning issue

    Good luck

  12. Hey guys, fyi I did remove the tweeter last night from the cabinet but the wire is too short, I can extend this quite easily but before doing so I wanted to enquire on what peoples experiences with this movement achieved on their opinion

    What differences they heard

    Thanks

  13. Deano, If I were you, I'd open the CWIIIs and see what sort of crossover they already have.  In the last 10 years, Klipsch has moved toward crossovers with steeper slopes and good components.  Your CWIIIs may already have such crossovers and thus gain nothing from Al's crossovers.
Okie dokie good idea, dont get me wrong they are amazing but as with most audiophiles we always wonder if things can be taken to the next level - tweekanitus [emoji44]
