I have my RP-140SA stanting on my RF-82 Mk1 with a mainstream 7-chanel Atmos Reciver (Onkyo TX-NR636)
But today I collected the old high-end 9-chanel Onkyo TX-NR3008 Reciver without Atmos support (I got it for free!)
now I'm thinking about what should I do? How bad? (or good?) would it be to use the RP-140SA as Front High still sitting on the RF-82's fireing upwards? (no I will not move/relocate them)
if I change to the Onkyo TX-NR3008 then I would also add two more speakers to my setup, probably more use of that than the Atmos that rarley gets used (I have only seen one Atmos movie in two years!)

I don't know about the warrany, but what could possibly brake on these high quality speakers?
I don't abuse them with a bad amplifier.
I feel like the chanses that these speakers would fail on me are slimmer than the chance of winning the lottery or if my house burns down, but then I have house insurance.
if I bought a subwoofer then I would care more for the warranty if the amplifier failed, but a speaker have so few parts that can fail, if I don't upgrade the would probably last for the rest of my life

I would try to get a good partial refund like willland said.
I have bought brand new Klipsch speakers from eBay, they arrived to my door in perfect unopened condition.
I got the RP-140SA from Holland and my PR-450C from Poland, both atleast 30% cheaper than what they sell for here in Sweden

get a power meater to see your actual power consumption.
I run my wohole system on a UPS too, but only TV and router is on battery, the rest is connected to the surge protection outlets

I wish there was a bigger version of the RP-140SA available.
it looks so small on my RF-82 and if I later upgrades to RF-7 III it would look really silly.
Is there anyone else who wish they had a bigger version?

I just managed to translate Swedish -> English to what I have. I have wood shavings isolated stretch ceiling.
Not only it would be a real mess to try this, I would be so scard my stretch ceiling would start to come down / hang down.
it is in my living room so I don't want to risk anything

Both my Yamaha NS-SW700 Subwoofers (one second hand one brand new) makes this "plop" sound.

on my Yamaha NS-SW700 I didn't like the auto standby function, I have it on always on, but controll the power by a MASTER/SLAVE power distribution unit (actually an APC ES 700 UPS) so whenever I turn on my TV both of my subwoofers torn on automatically. Works very well

do you have any more pictures of those 20 degree mounts? did you make them yourself?

nice, I wish I could do this, but my celing is filled with sawdust for isolation, it would be a real big mess if I started to make holes for speakers.
So I have to stick with bouncing speakers

I hate to cover these beautiful speakers with the grill, but I woul'd be so sad if my two year old daughter destroyed them.
by the way she loves the sound too, if I turn the music off she gets angry and gives me the remote to put the music back on
my wife hates when I buy new speakers, but both with the RF-82 Mk1 and RP-450C she have not been complaining, she just says I have to sell the old ones
(my daughter is sitting on a Jamo SW 410 E that I just tried if it was working, she quickly juped off when the base kicked in
)

I'm very happy with the RP-450C together with the RF-82 Mk1
my ears are not trained enough to have anything to complain about on the matching.
but I do have to replace my rear speakers. still using the old Jamo S 622

this thread was the first hit on Google, so insted of creating a new identical thread I'm bumping this one.
now 11 years later is the recomendation still not to upgrade the filter crossover?
I guess it would be a good upgrade to use components from RF-82 II in the RF-82 Mk1?
if so where can I get the parts without spending a fortune? (I'm new to this) or is it better to just wait and save up to upgrade the whole speakers to something like the RF-7 III?

Unless you have a super trained pair of ears, I bet the timbre difference will not be "that" noticeable. My RC-64 and RF-63's have different crossover frequencies but the timbre difference is barely detectable during most media playback.

I'm not sure about my ears. I think I will place a order for the RP-450C and hope for the best.
in the future I would like to upgrade my front speakers to RP-280FA if I can find a good deal, but here in Sweden they are pricey, $2870
I don't understand why they are so much more expensive than RP-280F + RP-140SA bought separately ($1494 +$716 = $2210)
And if I one day do that upgrade the center would be a perfect match
the only way to fit a higher/thicker center now would be to wall mount my TV, and the wall there is just thin plywood that I would not trust (there were previously a door opening there and previous owner closed it in the cheapest possible way)

I just purchased a pair of used RF-82s Mk1(Ref IV) for $478
I need to upgrade my current center (Jamo S 62 CEN)
I know the RC-62 Mk1 is the "perfect match" but at this point it is both very dificult to find an Mk1 and it is also too high for my TV bench.
Perfect fit dimension wise is the RP-450C (hight 6.81 my maximum avaiable hight is 7.3 inch)
But I wonder how good they will sound together, my guess is they will have different crossover frequency?
