I've had my '84 Heresy I's for a few weeks now and I am in love. I can definitely see what all of the fuss is about with vintage Klipsch speakers. Couple of questions: 1. What should I be listening for to determine if I need to do anything with the crossovers? They sound fine as is, but they are all original and I know the crossovers wear out over time. 2. What kind of spade connectors do you recommend for these screw terminals? Everything I see looks like it will be too big to fit. They are working fine so far, but I would prefer a more secure connection. Thanks.

What kind of spade connectors do people recommend for the original heritage screw terminals? I can't seem to find anything that appears to be decent quality and small enough to actually fit.

Any recommendations for changing the screw terminals to something easier to use, like binding posts or Neutrik speakon s?

I'll have to look into that. I never really liked any of the Onkyo products I've heard before, but I haven't heard any of their higher end products.

Recently acquired a beautiful pair of 1984 oiled oak Heresies. I currently have a Marantz PM-5004 integrated amp. It's a little underpowered, but it sounds ok with these speakers since they are so efficient. I plan on upgrading my amp next, so I was wondering what people recommend to drive these speakers in the ~$1000 range. I don't mind buying separates, but I need to have: sub out (also eventually want to add powered sub), phono input (Schiit Mani or MoFi Studiophono if the amp doesn't have one), and DAC (with inputs for TV and Chromecast Audio). I care about analog performance first and foremost (mainly classic rock vinyl), but I want to be able to hear TV and movies through these speakers so I can ditch my mediocre soundbar. I need something durable enough for daily use. I'd prefer to buy new rather than vintage as I am not particularly adept at working on electronics. I've seen good things about the Outlaw RR2160, but I haven't heard anything about how it sounds with Klipsch heritage models. Any recommendations are appreciated.

This is my first pair of nice speakers, so I don't really know what they are supposed to sound like. I'm coming from a pair of Pioneer sp-fs52s, excellent speakers for $250 new but nowhere near these Heresy's. The Heresies sound better as is, but I feel like they could improve even more. Since they are completely stock from 84 and have been in storage for 23 years, I think I'll start with the crossovers and go from there.

I see you went with the CT-125 tweeters for your Heresy I's. Would you recommend that, or would you keep it stock if you had to do it over again?

Thanks. I feel like I got lucky. I thought I was getting Heresy II's. Seems like people on here prefer the I. I'm loving how they sound so far. Can't imagine how awesome they will sound after I give Mr. Crites a call for crossovers and possibly some titanium diaphragms for the tweeters.

You are exactly right about the HOO on the label.

On a related note, these speakers have been stored since 1994. Is there anything I should be wary of electronically? They sound fine to me, but I haven't really turned them up yet. Planning on a bit of Watco Rejuvenating oil for the cabinets, but everything appears to be in excellent shape.

Thanks. I'm pretty excited about them. I was confused because the date in the serial number was telling me Heresy I but the box said Heresy II. I bought them from the original owner, who said he custom ordered them and picked them up from the factory, and he didn't mention getting a replacement box.

Do I have Heresy II or Heresy I? I just bought serial number 8423337 and 8423338 from the original owner. I'm not sure if I have the tail end of I or some of the first IIs.
