  1. Wow, a response from a Klipsch admin, you guys provide great support, I will always stick with your speakers. Thanks for the help everyone!
  2. Well good news, hopefully, I just got back from tweeter and the guy told me he's never heard of the driver being bent or damaged before unless you physically try to damage it so he said bring in the speaker and they'll look at it and it might even be under warrenty! Either way I think they'll take care of it for me.
  3. I have a pair of rf-3's and I feel I should get more bass for speakers with 2 8" woofers. I listened to the rf-7s and wasn't impressed with the bass response from those either. They are very loud and nice, but not very punchy to me. In comparison cerwin vegas put out a lot more bass with only a 12" woofer than these speakers do with dual 10's or 8's. I think room placement and bass perception are the key factor here.
  4. I have to get a replacement woofer for my rf-3's and would rather do it myself if possible but I have no soldering experience. Does anyone know if the woofers simply unscrew and unclip from the internal wiring or would you have to cut the wires and re-solder? Thanks for the help guys.
  5. I am headin over to tweeter in a few to see if they can order me a new woofer. I hope that it is a simple clip design. I am thinking it's about 80-100 for a new woofer, anyone have a better quote? And it's a Torx bit that I need? Thanks for all the help guys.
  6. Ok thanks, but to my previous question, does anyone know how the speakers are wired inside? Are the wires soldered in with the rest of the wires or do they simply disconnect from the rest of the wires?
  7. The speakers seem to be held in with a star shaped screw or something resembeling a star. Does anyone know where I could fit this sort of bit for my screwdriver?
  8. Do any of you know what has to be done in order to replace the woofer? I know that you can unscrew the old one, but are the wires soldered in to the rest of them? How hard would it be for a person with soldering experience, or would I be better off taking them to somewhere I know that will do a good job. I bought them from tweeter, but I don't know if they will do it, I know they do custom car audio, who knows, I am gonna stop by there tomorrow.
  9. I have no idea how it could happen. The woofers are rather tough and I doubt a simple accident or bump into them would cause the woofer to bubble out, I mean they are metallic and not just a paper cone. I didn't notice it when I moved them back into my room from my dorm room and I haven't been playing them since so who knows.
  10. I am very angry. I think my bro damaged my woofer on my rf-3's. The strange thing is that it isn't dented inwards but outwards, so I don't know how that could've happened. I was wondering if it may be possible to order a new woofer through Klipsch or order one through the dealer I purchased the speakers from and have them install it. Anyone know about how to go about this?? Thanks
  11. I have a harman kardon avr 500 and all my speakers hiss when there is no source playing.
  12. I have the harman kardon avr500 which is rated at 75 watts x2 and 45amps of power and I find that my rf-3's put out very little bass. I have read some reviews saying that these speakers have great bass but mine do not. They do extend fairly low but drum kicks and such seem to have very little impact. I think it probably has to do with roomplacement since I have read that these speakers should be a good foot from the wall which is not possible in my tiny dorm room. Good thing I have a 15" sub to back up the bass.
  13. I have a pair of klipsch rf-3's and have heard that they are very sensitive to room placement. I have read many reviews stating that the bass from the speakers is great and also some that say it is lacking. I find that the bass is lacking a little for a pair of speakers having 2 8" woofers, but I am not expecting them to put out as much bass as a pair of mains with 12" woofers however. The bass doesn't seem to be that punchy at all, but it is noticeable. I currently have them bi-wiried about 5' from each wall and right up against the wall. I am also not using the stands that came with them. I have a harman kardon avr 500 receiver so power is ample. Any suggestions?
