    For Sale

JBL 4638 from the JBL tent sale that happened a year ago. The specs can be found at this address http://www.jblpro.com/pages/cinema/lfsub.htm#4638 At the moment it is on ebay, the only problem is I have no means of shipping it. So you would need to be near Seattle and able to come get it. If it doesn't go on ebay I would sell for $200. It is in mint condition and only hooked up to amp for mabey an hour total. It was just a lil too much for my small living area in my apt. Any questions you can email evldor@speakeasy.net Thanks Mike
  2. Yes the 8200 has large/small settings for all speakers, as well as a THX setting which auto sets all the speakers. Also has max sub output setting so distortion is avoided, along with quite a few other set up features. You can assign the dig optical/coax inputs to certain devices or set to auto-detect also.
  3. Also about accesseries4less, I bought a VC5200 5 disc dvd from them and it works great and came without a scratch on it 8)
  4. I have the SR-8200 and have had zero problems. It sounds wonderful, picked it over the denon and yamaha I listened to previous. Also the 8200 and 9200 are made in Japan and the 7200 and under are made in China or Korea(can't remember which)The reference models are prolly made in Japan too. Build quality on Japanese made merchandise is usually a lil better then the other 2 places, so thats something to consider too.

  6. Star Wars Phantom Menace, pod race scene is a good reference for a dd 5.1 system. This message has been edited by Maximo on 05-06-2002 at 10:40 AM
  7. How about a lighted fiber optic type sign, to set on the center or av rack.
  8. Here is a link(mabey not active on the board though), to a place that sells refurbished Marantz stuff. I have bought a VC-5200 progressive scan dvd player from them and it was in perfect condition, and sounds wonderful for both dvds and music. Very sharp picture, and thats without progressive scan on. Anyway check em out I think they are some very good dvd players. http://www.accessories4less.com/advscripts/detailpg.asp?sModnum=MAR-DV-4200&sPrice=229.99
  9. I don't think Klipsch has authorized dealers that ship speakers, besides ubid, and they don't have rf-7s yet. Soo really you dont know if he got look-alikes or the real deal =/. Even so for the money there is no better speaker to get imo. I dunno about you but I dont kick around my speakers. Normal playing isn't going to break a driver loose. Also if he payed 2k and bought them online I think he got ripped off by that dealer, should have payed more like $1500. This message has been edited by Maximo on 04-24-2002 at 05:57 PM
  10. This could be 2 things, first it could be that your interconnects aren't shielded good enough and are acting as an antenna, I would mabey try Transparent Cable, they make very very low noise interconnects with real good shielding. Another thing mabey to try is another receiver, its possible that something in the denon you have has gone bad.
  11. Well I think something to realize with stereo equipment, is that there is always going to be something that sounds better then what you have. Unless you have 100k to spend, and even then... Anyway your RF3s are the best speaker for the money you can get, RF7s are also the best speaker for the money in their price range imo. Its all about what ya can afford. System: Marantz SR8200 (in 5 days, damn backordered stuff) Marantz VC5200 DVD Klipsch RF3-II Klipsch RC3 Klipsch RS3 Paradigm PW2200 JBL 4638 powered by a Parasound HCA-1000A All protected by Monster Power 3600 This message has been edited by Maximo on 04-16-2002 at 12:28 PM
  12. Mabey even look into the Marantz 7200, I know I really liked the sound of the 8200 and the 7200 is prolly fairly close. I think acceseries4less has a 7200 for pretty cheap, they sell refurbished Marantz, and are certified with warranty ect This message has been edited by Maximo on 03-29-2002 at 08:47 PM
  13. Well I think I decided on a Marantz 8200. For the price it seems to be a nice compromise in features and sound between a denon 4802, Integra 8.2 and a denon 3802. Getting it for about $1400. Thanks for all the input
  14. Well I really dont have a bad hiss through my fronts, its when I use the sub out to the parasound amp and then to the 4638s. I can turn the receiver volume all the way down and just turn up the parasound volume and I get a hiss. Thing is I turn off the receiver and hiss is gone. So I dunno
