  1. whell: "but my older Yamaha had it in spades over the newer unit" I've heard alot of folks say that the "old" Yamaha s were less bright and more powerful.....maybe those folks are right
  2. FAbuous: I almost bought that same unit, glad to hear it worked out for you "I also noticed brightness w/my RF-3II's when using my RX-V800. I found my audio magic by adding a Parasound HCA-855a." Boa: I'm still usin' the Yammy, sounds fine for now JasN00b : dooh ! your right .My edjumacation is showin',lol....
  3. ericd Maybe your right, there isn't a conflict of interest between TV and Klipsch. They both sell subs. Look....I didn't intend for this to start a big argument...maybe this dude,TV, is a great guy. Maybe his cat or dog is nice too and maybe he's a wealth of valuable sub knowlege , however , with all my ignorance, I agree with the moderator....sorry
  4. Hey guys, I'm glad I stuck it out , saved some cash and bought the Rotel. Now I know just how much Klipsch can shine. Next step, gulp, RCA - real time sound field analyzer (about 5000k ).I understand that to get "Theater sound " you need to go the extra step, buy an EQ ( a good one) and then set it using an RCA - real time analyzer. It will be a while before I can save that kind of cash .So until then I will have to be satisfied with butter smooth highs from the Rotel.
  5. Mike Mike : "TV (Tom Vodhanel, also the "V" in SVS) is very well known thruout the Sub community, and Bulletin Boards on the net. 90% of the members of this board know very well who he is as well. Do yourself a favor and search for username TV in the Sub section (using the Search utility) and see how much promoting he does on this site." 1)Tom Vodhanel is well know to YOU, Mike. This is a little hobby of mine , not my life.I don't know every manufacturer\designer by name. Mike: "I can tell you he has helped more people than you have" 2)Mr. Vondhandels' expertise was not in question.I congradulate him on his wisdom. BTW, Tom owns many pairs of Klipsch speakers and has every right to be on this board just like anybody else (as long as he isn't promoting his product). 3) That's exactly my point Mike , I'm glad we agree.

  8. TV, I have to say as an SVS owner that I couldn't agree more with the moderator. You come to the Klipsch site and promote your product without identifying yourself? Sounds a little underhanded.I don't come here under an assumed name to promote anything and neither do most folks here.Exposing yourself for all to see is called honesty in my opinion (for what its worth). How about a new handle such as SVS_VP?Then folks know exactly what they are dealing with.
  9. Hey guys, I have been troubled by the upper end harshness of my RF3's for some time.I tried everything to fix but to no avail. Finally I decided to try one last thing before dumping Klipsch all together, a new amp.The Rotel RMB 1075 changed my mind about Klipsh , I feel born again (lol). The Rotel is pure butter no question about it,bee-sting brightness is gone. Anyway, just thought I would post my experience and try to help anybody with brightness problems from the RF3s. If you have a Yamaha reciever and your unhappy because of brigthness, the Yamaha might be to blame.I still love my Yammy but not with the RF3s.
  10. Ear, I'm going to upgrade to better speakers , I have narrowed my search to 2 speakers, the RF-7s or Monitor Audio "silver 8i". Which brand would you suggest? Thanks in advance, Db
  11. Hey guys, I have been listening to the 20-39pci for about 2 months now .The exlposions in my movies are earth shattering, however, I don't think it's a very musical sub.I have the whole rf-3 collection and a ksw12 for center channel support.I think the SVS has illustrated out how poor the ksw12 really is.Anyway , I haved set the SVS to 80hz (lfe) and the ksw12(center channel) to about 100hz, the same point at which the rc-3 seems give out.The voices seem to be much richer now. I like to use "Hannable" to test my center channel voices. Both Anthony Hopkins and the "Chief Inspector" (cant remember his name) have deep voices. Now that you guys know the setup maybe you can give me a clue as to why the SVS is not very musical. System: rf-3 rc-3 ksw12 rs-3 yamaha rxv-1000 Svs-2039pci Ps: next week I hope to have a Rotel RMB1075 and then the pre/pro
  12. Hey guys, What kind of perfomance do you get from the in-wall flush mounted speakers? I know Klipsch and Polk sell them but I'm wondering how they compare to rb-5s for example.I would think performance would be mediocre at best since the driver is flabbing around in an infinate baffle. However , it would make a very neat setup with clean lines with only the center to mount over the TV.If I could get close to the performance with an in-wall infinate baffle speaker , I think I would go that route. Of course one could just mount a sealed speaker behind the wall with fantastic performance, but I would just want one the fits between the drywall. The more I look at my system the more silly it seems to me, my entire front screen is nothing but a giant row of speakers, total eyesore.HT is a kick@ss hobby but I'm trying to meet in the middle between esthetics and performance.
  13. Thanks for all the tips guys, will look into each one. As far as the SVS goes, well ,the jury is out I'm not unhappy but then again ,I'm not wowed by it performance thus far.....more later db
  14. Hey guys, My SVS sub is here and my question is , what to do with my KSW12? Should I keep it to support the surrounds or just sell it? I have heard that 2 subs in opposite points in the room can cancel each other out. system : rf3 ,rs3, rc3 ,ksw12,svs 20-39pci , yamaha rxv-1000
  15. I'm taking note, thanks again guys..... db
