I owned the 300i which is identical except for the tuner on the 300r. I agree with the others - not really a great pairing with Klipsch.
I think the Krell would sound amazing with some B&W, KEF or similar-sounding speaker.
Willing to share the asking price on that 300r?
$800

It's a great integrated w/ a nice tuner if it's the receiver version. Power doubles from 8 to 4 ohms. My friend had one at the time and said it was the best amp he had, better his Naim before. It's Krell 1st integrated and an earlier design and the sound is hard and clinical by all accounts, but I'd still love to have one. Can your speakers and room handle its ruthless sound?
Not sure…..Forte 1, 14’ x 30’ room.

@willland is sort of big on them.
Think it would be good, especially a remote.
What would you be powering?
Thanks!
I had some KG 5.2 but at the present time just some nice sounding Aperion tower speakers.

There’s a PMA-700V integrated amp for sale locally. I presently have an older Denon receiver (DRA 425R) that I’ve been happy with. I’m wondering if the 100 watt amp would be much of an upgrade sonically, over the 50 watt receiver.

No affiliation but certainly looks like a fair deal.

If they both sound the same I'd go with the 9090 simply because there's less that can go wrong.

I have a Denon DRA-425R (50 WPC) I picked up for $50 a couple years ago. It works perfectly and while I'm happy with it, it's always sounded a little bright to my ears with almost any speakers I've used. For now It's still my main receiver though, only because of the remote That being said, I also have an untouched vintage Sansui G-5000 that sounds great with almost anything I pair it with. If it were me, I'd take the path of least resistance and get the one that's local, or at least listen to it. I'm sure you could find a universal remote that would work too.

I have a like new CXA-60 with very low hours that I am willing to part with. $500 plus shipping.
Once I moved to IEMs I just stopped using my main system. We have five people in the house that all like different content and just prefer streaming on iPads and Laptops.
Thanks-I'll keep that in mind.

I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive used integrated amp ($300-$600) and came across these two at similar prices. Aside from the fact that one has a phono stage and the other a DAC, any recommendations? Thanks!

Low on the Klipsch food chain, but I have a pair of Black KG 5.2, good unmolested condition in Nashville, TN if there's any interest.

I’ve read about the revisions to the Epic 3 and 4. Just wondering if there were also 3 different versions in the smaller Epic speakers.

1) love the dreamers for asking $$ on LS
2) love even more what I paid for my LS
I know. Middle TN seems to have inflated prices. There’s been some Epic 2’s on FB marketplace for $1200 for quite some time now.

That stinks!! I've heard and seen so many horror stories like this. Good luck.

Yes it seems like they get great reviews and they don't come up for sale very often.

I know it's a long shot and I'd prefer not to go the ebay route. If anyone has or knows of one of these for sale let me know please. I'm in the Nashville, TN area and don't mind traveling a ways or paying shipping for someone who has experience in packing fragile audio equipment. I presently have a G-5000 and really love it. Just looking for an upgrade. Thanks!

I'd giver them a try if the price is OK. I run a pair of KG 5.2's with a pair of KG 1.2's. I'm using an early 90's model Denon 2 channel receiver (DRA-425). At low to medium volumes they sound very good...to my ears. At higher volumes I prefer just the 5.2's. Speaker placement and room size will make a big difference in how they sound together.

Any advertised estate sales I've been to overprice the items the first day. If there are any deals to be found, it will be on the last day. I never waste time on them anymore if they are run by an estate company. Auctions and family run estate sales are a different.

Not too long ago there was a member on here that posted a spreadsheet of up to date sales prices for used Heritage line speakers. I meant to print it out but now I can't seem to locate it. Anyway, it would prove helpful for your question. Maybe someone else knows where that might be because I'm in the market for some Forte II's.

FWIW I have not heard either but do have a pair of KG5.2's and really like them. That being said, I believe $300 might be high for either of those. I've seen 4.2's and 4's available around the Nashville TN area for $200 or less.
Heresy “clones” Nashville.
