yea i've had mine close to 2 yrs. and haven't unplugged them once or heard one scratch come from them.and i still haven't heard another system even make me think of given them up.wonder how many systems they'll last through.so far they outlasted 2 complete systems for me.and about 4 vid cards.hahaha

sorry i've never dealt with them but just wanted to tell you you've made a great choice.i've had mine since 11/99 and haven't regretted it ever.

money vs. cool drive bay.
if your tight on cash i would get the value but if you have acouple extra bucks get the full version with the live drive.

another vote for music match.i also have the lifetime version and after trying many players found it to be the best.excellent recording and library options and so easy to use.
do you guys really hear a difference between 160 and 320 for music?i have approx. 4.5 gigs of mp3 but there ripped at 128 since i only had 10gig hd when i started.now that i have my 45gig i think i can afford alittle more room if its really worth it.

sounds like a memory problem.also are you running multiple apps at the same time?i use music match jukebox and when im playing mp3's and have a few apps. open it will skip everyonce in a while.also how much hard drive space do you have left?you could be running out of virtaul memeroy.

just about any speaker wire will work.do a search for speaker wire there should be alot of info on it.some peps say it makes quite an inprovement.

hi all,im back..
i recently installed new hd in system(or should i say complete system) and forgot to save my existing wallpaper.i tried the search but still didnt find any.i'm hopeing one of the peps i sent it to awhile ago read this and send it back.

what motherboards do you have?not all mb are adjustable.
as for the 500 it probably will hit the wall around 600-650.the bird's may make it to 1.2 but im not so familiar with amd's.for either you'll need to bump up core voltage and that also means you'll be upgrading cooling.the superorb isn't going to cut it.
you must find out your mb adjustability before doing anything. good luck

dont think they'll sound much different just acouple more creature comforts.
they claim better channle sepperation but i haven't ever had a problem with mine.

i have mine coupled with a 566@933 and get pretty good speed(not what i expected but im satisfied) but excellent looks.but i must say if i knew about the new drivers for the vd5 5500 i probably would of went with that.but like i said earlier if you want pure fps got geforce if ya want image qaulity go radeon.but give that 5500 a second look.voodoos work with everything well.

err on second thought i may not be correct.you see a vd2 is a pass thru vid card were as you hook monitor to vd2 card then you have a jumper cable that connects from it to your primary card.in your case you would have to get some kind of swith box.got to sharkexetreme.com or 3dfxgamers.com and ask that ? at there message boards.

no problem,before i had my radeon i had a agp rage fury and 2 vd2 sli pci.most games will ask which vid card to use when you start the game.while some glide games will reconize you have a voodoo and automaticly choose it.

you made a great choice im sure you'll be happy.and yes it should smoke your v3.the only thing the vd might have an edge on is glide games.but i doubt it.
as far as fsaa i haven't really messed with it yet but it's controlled by your video card software.

oh and btw i play q3 at 1280x1024x32 with all options on with my radeon.i even tried 1600x1200 with no problems but my monitor,optiquest v95 19",starts giving out about then.

the only place the gts beats the radeon is pure speed.when it comes to display qaulity(2d & 3d),video output,dvd playback,and fsaa the radeon beats it hands down. remember when the radeon first came out, it was whoppin the gts untill they came out with new drivers.just goes to show what drivers will do.the gts is at its limit now but i feel the radeon is just starting(exspecialy when dx8 comes out).its a tough choice,i know i just made the same one and i got the radeon and have been happy with it so far.also do you know anyone with a gts?my buddy has a geforce ddr and has a few compatibility issues with some games.ive never had a problem with my fury and so far the radeon is following suite.good luck

how about the radeon ddr.its alittle behind the gts right now but i have a feeling that will change as soon as they come out with there next drivers.you can get it for 150 after rebate from compusa,bestbuy,or fry's.i believe buy.com has them for like 165 and if your a first time buyer there you get a 30$ off coupon for anything over 150$ so that brings you down under 150

i think i would still go with the ati.for one image qaulity is more important to me than getting acouple extra fps.i also dont believe in totally going on benchmarks.and when directx8 comes out and ati releases their new drivers i believe you'll see a decent increase in fps.another buddy of mine has a geforce ddr and has nothing but problems with it.i'm sure though, they have alot of this worked out since this was one of the original cards.but if your major use is the like of first person shooters then maybe the gts is for you.good luck ,both are good cards you'll be happy either way.
