I guess someone should buy this amp , then place it next to a real MC 275 and see if they are identical
Just took delivery of this amp!. Who has a "real" one that we can do a side by side test on?

I have two K-77-D tweeters and two K-55-X mids (with Altec 811B's horns) to use in some custom built enclosures I'm building. The tweeters and the mids came from my AK-5 Khorns. I'm looking for recommendations on the XOs between these components. Is there something other than Crites out there? With the addition of 2 good subs, I should have something close to a second set of Khorns.

Apparently I wasn't clear in my post. I want to make the upper horn box, not the folded horn box. I plan to buy a couple stand alone subs for the low end.

I replaced the K-77-D’s and the K-55-X’s (with B&C DE120 and A-55G drivers) on my AK-5’s and now I wanna build a cabinet with the original components, essentially recreating the horn box on my Khorns. I have two Altec 811B VOT horns. Looking for any help I can get with plans and crossovers…

Those are nice. GLWS. Wondering if you made any crossover changes when you went to the DE120's with MAHL lenses?
I did not... I would be interested in knowing if I should have.

I am getting bass now but not as much as I would expect. I am listening to "older" recordings so I'm sure this is contributing. Do these speakers need to be "broken in"? They are sounding better the longer I play them.

What do you mean by "not matched"? And is the problem resolved?
The serial numbers were off... Prolly not a big deal but this issue has been resolved.

I am embarrassed to say that my top speaker section was not matched to the lower section.

As far as I can see, yes. What are you using as source components?
Spotify hard wired from laptop to integrated amp.

Slip the wires off the HF side of the speaker terminal plate that you have pictured, then you will just have power going to the low end.....I think anyway
Did that and the woofers are there. I feel a little better now.

I connected my brand new (right out of the box) Klipschorns tonight (AK5) and there doesn't seem to be any bass from either speaker. There are correctly located in the room corners but all I'm hearing is the mid and tweeter. They are being powered by a Yaqin tube amp with no tone controls so nothing to adjust there. Wiring seemed to be very straight forward but something is not right. I will disconnect the mid and tweeter tomorrow to see if I'm getting any sound out of the woofer (it's late here) but it seems odd that both woofers are not working. Help.
Why buy a Mc 275 when you can have one of these!
