  1. Thats a bummer. I have been looking into the SVS PB 1000, considering my room is 15x15 will it be sufficient to give me a thump for action  movies. I like feeling movies as if I am in the middle of the action.

    Looking forward to a response

I'm sending my R-112SW back tomorrow. I purchased it 2 weeks ago via WOOT.  It's already making morse code type sounds from the woofer.  You have to focus on the sound but it's definitely there, so I ordered an SVS SB-4000 with a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty.  I'm glad that I'll have a sub for at least 5 years moving forward.  Klipsch aimed at a lower priced / higher sales volume product and no one can blame them for that choice.  We all make decisions.  btw- I only augment my Lascalas with Jazz and some 80's music, I didn't send any EDM to it during it's short visit here at the house.

  2. Hello!

So the Klipsch R112SW is on sale at $399 and I am looking for a good 12 inch sub for my system, however I have heard that the amp gives out after a few months and I is faulty. So My question is should I take a chance with the R-112SW or go with the R-120SW or the older version R-12SW?

112sw has a max 600W amp while the other two have a 400W amp. A bit new to this stuff so any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.  You will get a lot of opinions but as I suggest to everyone, you need to have a list of features that are "must have" and really listen to the units that you're considering and decide which one fits your personal taste for sound.  In my experience, having had many different brands and models, they will produce different sound, typically, a lot of that sound will be the same or very similar within a specific manufacturer at a given price range but Onkyo doesn't sound like Marantz or the Denon models.  Another consideration will be how much music versus movies will the receiver be used for, and depending on that answer, it could be more about features and which built in room EQ program might serve you better.

Another approach that many hear have used it to pick up a recent, but used model that you're considering, use it, see if you like it and if not, sell it and go onto the next until you find what you really like.

Sorry if that wasn't a lot of help, but nobody here, including me, can tell you what you are going to like, just opinions based on what we like.

    Thanks for the reply

I am mostly going to use it for movies and tv shows occasionally for music but majority for movies. Looking for a budget friendly receiver

    Thanks
