  1. I can confirm for you all that the adaptors linked above do indeed work and are of decent quality... cast aluminum. Also, the 511b is a noticeable upgrade over stock, even with the original klipsch driver.
  2. Thanks to you both. I have ordered a set, I'll post again when I get them and confirm fitment.
  3. Sorry to resurrect a dead thread but I can't find any info on what adaptor might be used to screw the klipsch cornwall midrange onto an altec 511b horn. The parts express link in the thread earlier does not work. Is this a reasonable substitute? Thanks. 4. Thanks for tour input everyone. I do appreciate the encouragement towards the end there but I dont think I have the skills to make it work properly.
  5. Still sounds like an overall poorly thought out half plan, and I'm not even trying to be hard on myself! I'll put them on the bay or something and think about other options, including recapping the crossovers.
  6. Thanks, already tried tweeters from bob and currently using AL'S, no luck so far. Maybe the capacitors are where it's at.
  7. Ok, bad idea. I guess I was looking at other threads where some folks had used the Heil AMTs as supertweeters and wondered if these could be adapted to the same purpose. Sounds like the consensus is no, so I will sell them and drop the obviously bad idea.
  8. Dont know if other folks had anything to contribute on this? I will replace the capacitors but does anyone have any further advice on incorporating the aurum cantus drivers in a supertweeter? Thanks.
  9. Hmmm... didnt realize that would be a problem... Thoughts these were pretty close in spec to the heil. Wasnt meaning to replace the tweeter, meant to supplement it. The crossovers are original... do you think that recapping would get me back the upper end clarity on its own?
  10. Hi guys, I've lurked here a long time but didnt join, not sure why! Lots of good info and a nice sense of community. I've owned heresy ii, quartet i and now cornwall i. Lived with the cornwalls for just over a year and do feel they miss a tiny bit of top end sparkle. Have already installed the elliptrac tweeters sold by ALK. Now thinking i might experiment with a supertweeter. I have purchased a pair of Aurum Cantus AST2560 and they are on their way to me now. Question is, how do I hook them up? Do I need to build a crossover? If so, any advice on how I'd go about that? Thanks all. Fred
