  1. I put up 3 pictures of my basement in another post I made. This is where you can find it. Basement setup Is the SVS 25-31PCi still a good choice?
  2. I need a very cool remote that I can use to control the following: -Reciever -DVD/VCR player -Double deck VCR -TV -Lights would be nice I don't really know everything those touch screen remotes can do but the dvd/vcr and double deck vcr both have copy buttons which I found impossible to program on the cheap remote I have. The DVD/VCR has some other things on the remote which I think would be hard to program. Could someone that has a nice remote tell me where I can find one? I also need to know how hard it is to program all the features of my devices into it. What do I have to do in order to get the lights controlled by the remote? The most expensive remote I've seen is the Denon RC-8000 for $599. It would be helpful anyone could pick out a remote that doesn't cost quite that much.
  3. Does anyone know where I can buy a stand for the RB-5s? Do they look good when they are on stands?
  4. Here are some pictures of my basement. You can see that I really dont have room for some floorstanding speakers so that is why I will probably get the RB-5s as my front speakers. If I get the RB-5s then the table and couches will block some sound I think. Is that true? Does anyone have any suggestions for my setup such as speaker placement, which speakers I should buy, or how much power I need to fill the basement with sound?
  5. For everybody that has the Reference Series, what subwoofer do you have with it? I have an extremely large basement. What does it take to fill it with bass?
  6. I don't know if they are all over or just in my area buy has anyone heard of Tweeter (once called Brynn Mar I believe)? Will they let me bring some RF-3s or some RB-3s home to test out? If so, how long do i get to use them? How much can I bring home at once?
  7. What is a better buy, the KSW-15 or the RSW-10 (I might be able to buy the RSW-12 if it anyone thinks it is better than the KSW-15). Of course, I want very deep bass. Right now I have a Yamaha YST-SW305 200 watt sub. When I turn it up loud while listening to music the bass sounds forced and it not very deep and I hear it but I don't really feel it. When you make your sub suggestion make sure I will be able to feel the bass even when listening to loud music and movies. Thanks for any help, Matt

    Reciever

    1. I was planning on purchasing a Sony ES STR-DA5ES A/V reciever but now I am wondering if it is possible to get something better for the same price. It does have a lot of things I want including 110 watts X 6 channels. If you have any suggestions for a reciever try and keep the MSRP under $1199 if possible. I am looking for: -Dolby Pro Logic II (a must have) -Dolby Digital EX (not sure if I can go without it) -DTS-ES (a must have) -Any THX features would be great if the price is reasonable. 2. About this 6.1 and THX stuff, how can a reciever have DTS-ES but put out 100 watts X 5? I saw another reciever that is THX Ultra and it puts out 110 X 5 watts. What is 7.1 surround sound? 3. I have a chart of surround sound formats. It has Dolby Digital and DTS listed as the same thing as far as speakers go (same amount of discrete and matrixed channels) but it says that all DVDs are Doglby Digital encoded but only some DVDs are DTS-encoded. Same thing goes for Dolby Digital EX and THX Surround EX. What does all this mean? If you can help with any of these questions I appreciate your advice, Matt
  9. I have a few questions. 1. Why do the Klipsch RF-3II and the RB-5II cost the same? It looks to me like the RF-3II would kill the RB-5II. I dont really have room though for the RF-3II so I was thinking about the RB-5II for my two front speakers but I don't want to buy one pair of speakers knowing I could have got a better pair for the same price. 2. What is a better choice for subs: KSW-15 or the RSW-10? 3. Will Klipsch speakers work well with the Sony ES STR-DA5ES which puts out 110 watts X 6 channels? Can someone give me an idea as to how loud Klipsch speakers will play with this reciever?
