  1. If you want to add lower frequency bass to the Heresy speaker then a subwoofer is a good option. I have had a lot of commercial subs in my time, and with faster horn type speakers found them to be hard to integrate and never been happy to keep them. However if you build a sub speaker with a fast high efficiency and light coned driver and get yourself a sub amp it works very well - if you are orientated for DIY I can post some information across. I have built a 12 and 15 inch version. A friend successfully uses the 12 with his Heresy IIIs and I use a 12 and 15 at different locations in the room and at different phase. They assemble easily if you have a local CNC shop to machine from veneered plywood - just glue together like lego 🙂
  2. Thanks for the welcome! I am based in West Sussex, not far from the coast. The light shade is sort of like an upside down pine cone as I built the house in an existing plot that had a large marine pine tree 'too close' to the new building to keep......but after doing a lot of research and insisting I kept it and we worked around it to build the house. So it's sort of a nod to the mature trees that surround the property. I can't recall where I got it from to be honest, my wife found it 🙂
  3. Hello everyone. Mine is based in the UK, and I have a strange mix as shown in the pictures. Old DacMagic, heavily modified. ARC SP8 again modified with some nice Paper in Oil caps and upgraded resistors. A one of a kind 211 power amp that weighs about 45 Kg and produces 12W. The Heresy's are unmodified IIIs. I use these with 2 subwoofers, using efficient paper cone 99db/W drivers and these are driven with high level input from the 211 into 500W transistor amps that control phase / roll off/ volume. You can see the 15" sub with the green grille in the photo. I also have an old Linn LP12, with a Syrinx Pu2 Gold arm I took my H IIIs around to an old friend who had lived with Sonus Fabers for 15 years....and within an hour of listening to them he had bought a second hand pair of Heresy IIIs off eBay!! they are in my view an audiophile bargain, but in larger rooms they do benefit from a fast efficient subwoofer. Does anyone have a schematic for the HIII crossover, I might have a play there one day. Great!
