  1. Having a snow blower is a treat. My neighbor works for a city and when it snows he is always stuck at work plowing. I do his driveway and two neighbors drive ways. One of the neighbors got slick and at the end of the season slipped $100 best buy gift cards in a nice card and left it under my windshield wiper. Well, I do not accept money or gratuities from my neighbors. That evening his kids had 2 new leap pads and 3 new games. My neighbors did get slick, one of them saw the dealer truck picking up the snowblower for the tune up. They paid for the tune up. Pissed me off 3.gif

  2. It is a Christmas tree, Christmas party, Christmas Cheer, Christmas Vacation, Christmas Eve. If people are offended about a Holiday then should Non-American citizens be forced to work Independence Day? After all they are not Americans so why should they be able to celebrate that day. that goes for Memorial Day and Veterans day.

I am Jewish and could not care less if my non-jewish family wants to go out and cut down a tree and decorate it. Heck I look forward to it every year, as I do going over familys house Christmas eve, Opening presents on Christmas Day, Christmas dinner with er family, and the couple of after christmas parties with family the following weeks.

to me it is a reference of time of year. It means I can get to spend time with family. As a whole this country celebrates Christmas and to not allow it to celebrate it as such is just showing how big of wimps we have become. Oh I wanted to use the P word so badly.

It really can be a holiday with celebrating Christ. Heck when was the last time any of the forum goers laid flowers on the graves of the veterans on memorial day and veterans day? But you sure enjoy the day off without the consideration of those that served the country. I am surprised America has not canceled those holidays yet. After all, those that gave their lives for this country may have killed others from some one elses native country, isn't that offensive?

Not intended for those that simply enjoy the Christmas Season, Christmas trees, Christmas cheer and Christmas parties

  3. I believe LG has or will have the largest manufacturing capacity in producing lcd and plasma displays.

Other than that I have heard some comment that LG stands for Lucky Goldstar, Yes Goldstar the parent company, mkaers of super inexpensive consumer electronics, was absorbed into another company and renamed LG.

  4. Spend 14 years in the Navy, 10 of those years on subs and approximately 6 years under water. After 14 years was discharged with a broken neck, literately. Now I work for Intel working on the Lithography equipment and training.

What I like about my job, I get to go home every night and sleep in my own bed 9.gif

I would find it hard to believe that in three years the technology with each generation has not been improved. It is important to do the research on which set it rated better. Frankly if I was in the market BB would not be the first choice in making the purchase. If you get the extended warranty it covers the recharge which in itself can run up to $500 depending on how much gas is required. there is a sales pitch.

the contrast on my nec is less than 50% for DVD and a little over 50% for Cable inputs. Out of the box the plasma had the brigthness and contrast pumped way up. After calibrating in what I consider normal room lighting the constrast was lowered.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

    cheers

  6. Being Jewish growing up it was a time of year where the family was drawn together to celebrate.

Now holidays are Force Family Fun (F cubed) where I have to go through the hassle of trying to figure out or ask what people want. Personally having others buy me things is disturbing. the over commercialization of every single holiday, except thanksgiving, creates a hatred and boils my blood.

Make sure you read the last line of the post it is wicked funny....

    Just for the holidays;

    I hate shopping

    I hate parking lots

    I hate stores

    I hate traffic

I hate people shopping where I am shopping

    I hate lines

    I hate wrapping paper

I hate the battle of figuring out or asking what people want

I hate and despise egg nog

I hate sending out Christmas cards Email should suffice

I hate getting stuck behind the snow plow or sand/salt truck

    I hate decorating

    I hate shoveling or snowblowing

I hate the cold in the morning

    What I like;

I like the family get togethers

I like sharing a part of my life with family and friends

I like the decorations that I don't have to do

    I like the food

    I like wearing pajamas

    I like flannel sheets

I like real wood buring fires

    I like real hot chocolate

    I like coffee and booze

    I like shopping via internet

I like the UPS and FedEx guy

I love cutting down the tree

I love the snow as long as I don't have to relocate it

I love my remote started in the morning

I have no use for the snow or cold after Dec 25, well except for snow boarding.

My ideal holiday is to have friends and family gathered and sharing a moment is our busy lives together sharing memories, stories, life experiences and a little food and beverage.

Ahh I feel better, can you tell I was shopping today?

I have negotiated with my wife we do one day of shopping. I battle the crowds, lines and traffic one day a year. I am DONE until next year.......

We are in our 4th wally world, she wants the $10 3.5 quart mini crock pot and we are unable to find Whac a mole for one of the kids. I set out looking in every cart in the last walmart for those two items. I first see the crock pot in someone elses carriage, BINGO there it is, she parks the carriage and heads down the aisle to look for something, I moved in and snatched the crock pot out of the carriage and scooted off. Whac a mole story will be shared later

  7. is that info readily available to the public.

I would believe that to be true for the first few generations but I am sure the newer generations would have somewhat better life. but then again I am working off of what I read off the web and magazines.

(this article does mention 10,000 hours for early adopters, but they don't define early adopters)

  8. I believe the half life of 5 years is based on 24hours a day.

for instance if the half life of a plasma is 40,000 hours then that is about 1600 straight days of viewing of about 5 years.

IMO if you are running your tv even 12 a day every day then you I feel you are missing out on life.

I love my plasma even though its only ED.

Sony grand wega is a great picture and the 50 inch can be had for less than $2500

  9. Dancing with a snow blower can be a serious workout. In 20 degree weather I wear a t shirt and light LLBean squall jacket or I remove the line from my 686 snowboarding jacket, and I am sweating like there is no tomorrow...

Home depot Arien Models seem stripped down but still work. Keep in mind these things can get heavy.

  10. Ariens 8 or 10 hp. model 1028 first choice......

    Things to look for

hand warmers laugh but they are great

Chute adjsutment last year this became standard on most; changes the throw angle, VERY VERY handy

    electric start standard on most

light very handy if it aint snowing

Something else to consider, I prefer the wider mouth. The reason for this is it cuts wider than the tires and reduces the number of passes. but the engine is too small wit the wider intake the blower will bog down.

    REVERSE oh makes live great

    model 8526

  11. I would rather recommend the Ultra driver based box. Having had the PC+2039s. PB2+s and now the dual PCUs the TV12 driver is worth the premium. Though dual PB2+ will provide ample head room the Ultra will provide smoother sounding results. This summer one of my friends borrowed my dual PCUs next to his dual CS+. He and his wife preferred the sound and performance of the Ultras hands down.

My vote is for the Ultra
