I removed the biwire set up off the LEFT front and moved it to the Center speaker. So now the center is the LEFT front speaker.
Still the sound is flat.
Any thoughts of the receiver, Onkyo DS797, being the cause?
Thanks for yur help,
Scott

Hi to all,
Last week I posted my concerns regarding the RC-3 sounding muffled.
I have adjusted the angle which did improve the sound. As we were watching various movies, DTS, THX, Dolby, it was apparent the center channel was squashing the voices.
I have also adjusted the Bass and treble in every direction. I set all the receiver settings to default and started from scratch.
Now as my last resort I have removed the hi/low clips from the center channel.
I connected the cable to the low and both woofers are working well. The horn on the other hand sounds like its in a coffee can and not a speaker.
How much output should I expect to hear from the center horn and is that whatis causing the muffled performance?
What else can I do to improve the performance?
Current config;
Onkyo DS-797
RC-3
monster 1.2 cable; Green lead to red; black lead to black
I thank you for reading my post and for your assistance.

I apparently lost the center speaker tilt post for my RC-3. Is there any place on the web I can pick up a replacement.
Please read "Muffled Center Channel" post on 10/17/2002.
Thank you

Hi, I am experiencing a problem with my Center channel sound (RC-3). It sounds rather muffled as if the High's are not being projected. I am powering it with the Onkyo DS-797. The speaker is atop the TV.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Scott

I am laughing my butt off. I tried Cambridge sound, bose, and boston acoustics and then finally Klipsch. Understanding how money can be tight I focused on the equipment since who will care what the room looks like when the movie was playing and the lights were dimmed. What matters to me was the sound and sight along with the cushy recliner.
My friend boasted how awesome his bose system was. After seeing and hearing my stuff I can't get him out of my cellar.
Later and thanks for hte laugh

Thanks to all that replied.
The RS-7 blow the RS-3 away.
I had the opportunity to try both side by side at home and WOW what a difference.
Now my system is complete.
Thanks again

they do have RS3 in stock. The RS7 boxes were damaged, no damage to the speakers themselves. They said it would be easier to offer them to me and get them out of the store than have to deal with anymore. Same warranty, just a great discount.

Hi,
I just returned from the local hifi store and they offered me a package of
2 RF-3
1 RC-3
2 RS-7
and RSW-10
is this system recommended or should I stay with the RS-3 to keep the speakers matched.
Thank you

also, is it possible you're comparing it to another klipsch or in a better room & expecting too much from your rc in your place?
yeah that could be the problem.
Thinking about going down to Tweeter and borrowing an RC-7 tomorrow and see how that sounds
