  1. Love them way the last for the nexct 6 months. As far as the Altec 641. I did say they sounded better to me. As you can see each review as their own sound they would like to hear. THe 641 was setup for gamming and that is what I use it for. I have not had any problmes with them and they have lasted longer the the 4 PM i had.
  2. I have 4 sets go bad in less then a year. When the replaced the last one I sold it on Ebay and have not had a problem with the Altec 641 that replaced them and the Altec sound better to me.
  3. After useing them the don't sound at all. Give them 6 to 8 months
  4. I would add the Altec Lansing 641 to the list. Most of the reviews said that the bass was the best out of them.
  5. I am just saying that there are som many problems with these the PM. I had 4 set go bad in less then a year. So to answer your question I would not get ant PM. I got a set of Altec 641 and have not had a problem with them.
  6. I would get the Altec Lansing 641 if I was you.
  7. This is the same distortion I have heard on every PM system I have had.
  8. It is a very simple process and all you need is a volt meter and a 1kHz and a 50Hz wave file. Open up on satellite and turn the volume all the way up. Play the 1 kHz file and measure your voltage. Once you have that measurement take the voltage and square it. Then divide it by the Ohms listed on the back of the speaker. This is the formula (E2/R). Once you have that multiply it by the number of satellites speakers in this case 4. Follow the same process for the Sub using the 50Hz wave file. As you can see it is very easy to do.

What part of texas are you from?
  10. I check the RMS wattage on the 4.1. They did not hold 400 watts for 30 seconds. I never saw 400 watts. The best I got was 98 watts. I also checked my ADA 995 and they were at 200 watts like they said. The spec on ADA995 is 115db and the PM 5.1 is only 113db. So from what I know about amps for the 5.1 PM to get 116db they would need a 1000 watt amp. This is based on for every 3db you have the double your amp. With this in mind and I have heard the 5.1 PM I will keep my Altec Lansing

  12. Everything that I heard on both my Altec sound better then the Klipsch. The Sub on the PM does not keep up, it distorts on almost all of the music I listen to. Any time a sub sounds like it is farting is not good. I would never buy another Klipsch product again. It is bad enough that they market at a wattage that you will never hear the sound quality is very poor when you turn it up.

  14. So why does Klipch only report the peak wattage?
