OK. A change of subwoofer location and some tweaking of Windows sound control and these things are shaking my walls. My cat has fled the house, and my neighbour is probably calling the police. There things are incredible! Gotta go now....the drool on my keyboard is making it hard to type.

I just hooked them up and tested them. They sounded good, but not quite as good as they did at CompUSA. I suspect two things; 1) They need to be broken in. 2) I have a crappy,cheap generic soundcard. Next month I will be getting a new PC with an Audigy. So, do the speakers sound that much better after several hours of play? And how much does the sound card matter? Thanks in advance for your advice.

I was in Best Buy yesterday looking at speaker wire and saw an interesting-looking kit from Acoustic Research for $20. It consists of 50' of 16 guage wire, plus eight gold-plated pins. The pins are the twist-on variety so you dont need to solder or crimp them. I am thinking about rewiring my new 4.1s with this as it is waay cheaper then buying the Monster upgrade kit, and would not challange me technically. Anyone ever used one of these kits?

Hee!Hee! Ordered a set from Circuit City online yesterday,and arranged to pick them up from my local store instead of having them shipped. When I arrived at the store they said they actually had zero stock, so they would dropship a set and lower the price by $50 for my pain. Brand new 4.1s for $150. I'm stoked!

Does it sound like Klipschhh or Klipsk ?

My budget will only allow for a new set of 2.1s or a set of refurbished 4.1s. I would, of course prefer the surround sound option, so my question is directed to the Klipsch people here. I have seen a few disturbing comments on the refurbs in this forum. Can you tell me what quality control procedure they receive before being shipped out? Also, approximately what percentage are being returned as defective within the 90 days? Thanks.
