    OK, my bad..... I replied before the picture went up.... in the thread, just took another look, and while I was typing up a response, there was a link posted with pictuers.

    What you are looking at is a powered mixer, not just an amplifier. As such, it takes signals from all devices, combines them into a common bus and amplifies them. You may need this if you are a weekend warrior in a garage band, but not for home, I would pass on that.

    Now that you mention it, It will be located in my garage. I'm gonna try my hand at electric guitar at the tender age of 40.

    I'm thinking of purchasing a PA amp rated at 400wpc from a pawn shop for $200. One thing that struck me odd was the volume control, it's very sensitive. The slightest adjustment and it administers decibles one would hear at a concert. While I enjoy my music loud, I would like to have more control over the amount of sound that is blasted in my living room. This is the first time I've ever messed with pro equipment- is this normal?

    I live in the Houston area. Every now and then a pair goes up for bid in Ft Worth but not in Houston. Well, a pair did come up for bid once but some Bose owner must have had his way with them cuz they were banged up beyond belief. This is painstaking, I have the cutter(cash) and it's burning a hole in my wallet. Perhaps I was meant to own a pair of Khorns eh? I still would like to hear them scream.

    500 would be sweet but something tells me these babies are gonna hit the 800 mark before it's all said and done. I thought that AM description was off; i'm sure the dude that sold them to him sold him that line. it would also bea b*tch if they were not in the condition described. alas, life isa gamble eh?

    An audition thread eh? That sounds like a splendid idea, thanks, I'll do that.

    Now I'm pondering the Cornwall vs the Khorn, I mean sooner or later I'll move to a bigger place right?

    I'm tapping the 401 for a 5yr loan and I want to make sure I get the best sound for my money.

    I listen to a variety of music ranging from country to rock with an occasional dose of jazz.

    I wish I could hear them face off ; that would simplify things.

    I'm leaning towards the Cornwall at this moment.

    Thanks for ya'lls opinion.

    Next week, I have to make a difficult decision between the two. I thought about getting the Khorns but my current room of living room's windows would shatter at the thought of having such decibles thrown at them.
