That would be my guess also. I've owned a pair of Oak Lacquer Heresy before but can't say I really notice much difference in the sheen between the two. The original owner is sending me his original bill of sale so I'll see if they were a special order.

Definitely a "G". Tags are very readable. I'm thinking gloss finish maybe?

I've seen HWL, meaning Heresy Walnut Lacquer finish but what does the "G" stand for. This code was on a pair of 1980 Heresy models.
