  1. Keep us posted Steady. My soldering is shaky at best so I'm in the same boat.
  2. Thanks for this ongtw75! I may try this!
  3. Mainframer - My 800 sound has a very similar Power supply to your 1200. There seems to be several bits (look above the transformer in both our photos) that you have in the 1200 vs our 800. Interesting.
  4. Tim 1 - Welcome to the joys of owning these Klipsch Cinema sound bars! Bad power supplies! I am guessing that you can't use the same Power Supply for the 1200 as was used here on the Bar 48. The PS for the Bar 48 was the same as used in the 600. My 800 has a different Power supply and I have not found one like it for sale anywhere. If my 800 is different (its bigger and powers the LED indicators) than it makes since that it is also different. Can you take a picture of it?
  5. I also just noticed that I seem to have a different brand of caps than the two you have in your power supply that of the one is seemingly blown. See the phot of my PS on the previous page. Curiouser and curiouser....
  6. Good work!! Please keep me posted. If those work for you, I will order them. I have a friend who is a neater solderer than me, so I will enlist his help.
  7. Thanks Kevin - I fixed my 600 that was replaced with this dead 800 by Klipsch. I replaced the power supply as instructed in the Bar 48/600 thread. Darn it if I didn't give it to a good friend after I fixed it. If I'd have known the 800's were so fragile too, I would have kept it. It's still working! LOL!
  8. Thanks Ongtw75. I took a look at mine and don't see any bulging caps. It doesn't men much because I'm such an amateur. What about you, Skunkworks? Any luck?
  9. Do any of you know a replacement power supply for the 800? It is different than the 600 power supply. It was a sent to me as a replacement for my 600 when it's PS died. The 800 died after 3 or 4 months. Thank you - Matt
  10. Yes Skunkworks. My 5 prong plug is labeled Gnd Gnd VCC VCC STB as well. My PS looks exactly the same as yours. So I thing the 700 and 800 is the same. That's an interesting tidbit about the two prongs running the LED. I still haven't made up my mind if I want to throw it out but I'll mail the PS to you if I do!
  11. Thank you Skunkworks! I ordered the same PS but I realized, like you that its not likely to work. Keep me posted. I'm not ready to give up yet but...This may go in the trash! I like Klipsch speakers but their sound bars? Get them out of my house! LOL!
  12. This is a Jpeg of the 800's power supply photo
  13. I got my 600 replaced under warranty with an 800. Unfortunately, the power supply in that went dead after a several months. Does anyone know what power supply can replace it? I'm a complete amateur but It seems to be larger than the PS for the 600. (or, do you think the replacement for the 600 will work?) Thanks. Matt IMG_5423.heic
  14. Thank all you guys for your genius knowledge. I am an untrained novice...a messy solderer at that! And thanks to you all, I got my amazon power supply in to my Cinema 600 and it's working (for the moment....)!!! Since they gave me an 800 (It sounds a bit better and more options for connecting the sub), I am hoping the 600 keeps working and I can give it to my friend for his new place! Did you see Klipsch has come out with a whole new line of soundbars and is sunsetting these? They are made with Onkyo. I hope they have better luck. I experienced good customer service.
