  1. thanks for the input Ears 1. yeah I think I'll just replace the A/C cable with one of the extra server cables I got lying around. It's thicker than that OEM one, but not quite like those Cobalt or UltraThick power cords. I understand the concept of power and demand from my car stereo install days, but just can't pull the trigger on a $100+ A/C cable. Money could be spent somewhere else. Maybe a receiver upgrade or Klipsch speaker upgrade! 2. I kinda thought that too, I like the idea of being able to tune it easier with the controls on the side within easy reach.
  2. Ok a couple of questions for all you HT experts out there. 1. Can I upgrade the power cable on my HGS18-II to say a computer server A/C power cable? The one that they give you looks so thin when comparaed to the dozen or so A/C power cables I have lying around. Question is that the Velodyne A/C is 2 prong and the ones I have are 3 prong. Thoughts on this? I know you can buy some, but the A/C wires I have are signicantly thicker than the Velodyne OEM one. 2. Configuration question, would it be better to aim the woofer directly into the corner I have it placed at? Hate to move it around more than I have too since I got it setup nice and all. Thanks to all in advance.
  3. Thanks, I never thought about programming the remote into my Denon one. I think I just like fumbling thru 6 remotes for the right one. Cool tip, thanks.
  4. thanks, will be sure and get around to it as soon as I get it all tuned and stuff. Question to anyone out there, what do you think would be the best way to place the sub? With the driver facing the walls or toward the listening area. Right now it is in a corner. Facing the listening area. Don't really want to move it around too much if I don't have too. Thanks
  5. Thanks all, not quite up to your standards yet Ears! But just a start. time to tune this bad boy sub. neighbors beware!
  6. Awesome, the bass is great and it just shakes the whole house. I have been without a sub since April, all I can say is why did I wait. My Klipsch's sounded pretty decent, but nothing comparaed to this baby....
  7. thanks, I kinda figured that. guess thats safest. I use the "wet" ones on other furniture. I'll keep that in mind, wouldn't want to ruin the cabinets on my ref series!
  8. Did a quick look, didn't see anything posted really. Best way to clean your Klipsch cabinets? I figured using Pledge or something, but don't want to accidently ruin my speakers. Suggestions or past experiences? Thanks
  9. after posting I thought about that. Keep thinking about the RSW series.
  10. what color is it and what is the condition? I live in bay area as well. thanks!
  11. yeah thats what I kinda was thinking. Just was curious if there was a major change. Seems like those HGS 18's are getting cheaper since people want to carry the new series II line.
  12. to anyone who might know, what the difference between the HGS Series I and Series II might be? Specifically between a HGS 18 and HGS 18-Series II I didn't see anything on the velodyne website Thanks
  13. looking for good price and reliable retailer for Velodynes. The HGS series II to be specific. Thanks
  14. thanks for the response. the HSU models seem to be a take on the SVS style. I wonder if the whole tube vs box style makes a huge difference sound wise. Basically I am looking for something to give me deep bass for both movies and music. not sure if I should go with the SVS or the velodyne. Looking at the Paradigm now looks good as well. decisions...decisions....
  15. Trying to determine which sub I should get for the following system. I notice everyone says SVS, but I know I have heard velodynes in person. currently, I have: Klipsch's RF3-II Main Klipsch RC3 Center Klipsch SS.5 Rear (couldn't pull the trigger on the RS3's, those sure are expensive rear speakers! Denon 2802 any suggestions? Price is a consideration too. I know the SVS has a good pricing for their models. Thanks!
