    Iron Butterfly.

    In A Gadda Da Vida.

I have always liked "Soul Experience" from the album Ball.

    Another

From The Crazy World of Arthur Brown...

I am the god of hell fire, and I bring you

<name of song>, I'll take you to burn

<name of song>, I'll take you to learn

    I'll see you burn

You fought hard and you saved and earned

But all of it's going to burn

And your mind, your tiny mind

You know you've really been so blind

Now 's your time, burn your mind

You're falling far too far behind

Oh no, oh no, oh no, you're gonna burn

  2. My bad. Poor clue. Sorry for the miscue.

    Bloodrock - D.O.A.

Laying here looking at the ceiling
Someone lays a sheet across my chest
Something warm is flowing down my fingers
Pain is flowing all through my back

I try to move my arms and there's no feeling
And when I look I see there's nothing there
The face beside me stopped it totally bleeding
The girl I knew has such a distant stare

    I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air
    I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air

Then I looked straight at the attendant
His face is pale as it can be
He bends and whispers something softly
He says there's no chance for me

    I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air
    I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air

Life is flowing out my body
Pain is flowing out with my blood
The sheets are red and moist where I'm lying
God in Heaven, teach me how to die

    I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air
    I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air

  3. 1970. I was a senior in high school. Moved with Mom from Dallas Texas to Stockton California. New husband leaves Mom, so she moves back to Dallas and leaves me to finish high school in my own apartment. This was from January to May. I suddenly became very popular. Two girls I knew asked if they could come over to smoke some pot. I said "sure". Should they bring some for me? "No", I answered. I did not do drugs then. They came over on a Friday night. Mom had a big console stereo. One of those big pieces of furniture. So I laid in the middle of the stereo with a girl and a speaker on each side, listening to In A Gadda Da Vida. Yes I did get high and we had a blast.

  4. Try Charles Brown's A Life In The Blues. It is a DVD and CDA of a live show he did in a venue called Lone Star, in New York. He was a classical music piano player and taught chemisty in south Texas. Not his bag, he moved to L.A. in the 40's and started playing the bar scene. He was in a group called Johnny Moore's Three Blazers when they has a hit called Driftin' Blues. That was the start. Early Ray Charles was often compared to Charles Brown. The piano solos on I Stepped in Quicksand and When the Sun Comes Out are spectacular. I believe he wrote Please Come Home For Christmas. He did a great duet with Bonnie Raitt on his tune Merry christmas Baby. This is a great DVD. You will not be sorry. And if you like this, check some other music of the L.A. 40's scene, like Amos Milburn and Wynonie Harris.

    Cheers!

  5. Hi everyone,

I have a 10 year old Panasonic 27" XF Series tv in the bedroom. When first turned on the images are elongated (cone-headed people), like being in front of a circus mirror. After a 30 minute warm-up period the picture is good. Any suggestions as to what has gone weak? Would it be expensive to repair?

    Thanks,

    ish

  6. I am unsure of the value of the auto eq feature. I have the 3805 which did not come with the mic. From what I understand the 2805 comes with one. To save some greenbacks, go with the 2803 and set it up with your ears or an decible meter. I think you will enjoy the Denon vs others. It is just a mater of taste and expense. Wish I had the RF7s. Enjoy.

  7. Howdy,

I am trying to find a copy of a great old western starring Gary Cooper, Karl Malden and George C. Scott. It was only released on VHS and is going for 30 to 50 bucks. It retails for 19.99, but must be out of print. See google search for reviews. Anyone have a copy?

  8. Hi Moon,

Saw Pompeii at the theater in the early 70's. It blew me away then as it does now.. I saw Pink Floyd at Atlanta's Municipal Auditorium in I think 1974. It was the first show I had been to with speakers in back of the auditorium. The surround sound was incredible. People would stand up and pass out and others would take them out on stretchers. The band did all of DSOTM and other earlier songs. I only knew them through Umma Gumma. Every note sent waves of chills up and down my spine. Spent most of the show doubled over in my seat saying to myself "they are gonna have to carry me out".

Sorry this is a little off topic. By the way, which one's pink?

Saw Open Range on Tuesday. Great western. Good vs bad. Lots of rain and thunder. The gunfire sounded so good, I had to dodge a bullet or two.

    Best regards

  10. I am not a game player. Short attention span I guess. It is a shame that Philips promoted this platform as a game machine and not as a learning tool. Playstation and Nintendo was coming out about that time and CD-i could not compete. CD-i also had mpeg 1 capability, and I remember watching movies on a cd long before DVD became mainstream. It was neat! I am very fond of some of the art titles. Art of the Czars, The Renaissance of Florence, French Impressionism, Van Gogh. Bunches of art and alot of music titles too. The stuff looks great on my HT. I looked on ebay and there is a Philips CD-i player and five titles going for 50 bucks. Can't beat it. Someone ought to check it out. One last thought... I have been reading this forum for a couple of months and ya'll are a great bunch!! Thanks.
