  1. Yes excuse me, I was reading something else. Excuse me lol, they (Audigy 2) have freq. response of 10hz-46khz.
  2. Well unless your a real bass junkie, I don't think the sub is weak. This thing has the most powerful kick out of any 6.5 (x2) setup i've heard, and it hits as low as 29hz before a real steep roll off. It's not the sub thats the problem, it's Audigy 2. Creative went for all out quality this time, however they made one flaw. The card only has a freq. response of 40hz - 15khz (+/- 3db) so the sub is not going as low as it is able to.
  3. Hell even at 20hz you should pull in around 100db
  4. Alright next tuesday, my friend wants to hear my klipsch's, he has the AL641's. He wants to have a sound challenge with me and basically I need to know how I stand in the following areas. Highs (Clarity, Detail) Mids (Warmth, clarity, presence) Bass (Accuracy, Tightness, "kick" ability) Crossover (Smoothness, Freq. response) Music Games Movies We are using a Audigy 2 as our sound card. I just want to know if I would do well against them...Thx!
  5. Does the subwoofer have an inverted feature like the Altec Lansing 641's??
  6. http://sunfire.com/images/products/large/subsignature.jpg True Subwoofer Signature ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Bobs design for a high-pressure (and miniature size) subwoofer was so unique that he got a patent from the U.S. Patent office. The significance of the design is that a physically tiny subwoofer can produce absolutely earth-shaking, sub-sonic bass at high volumes without loss of coherence or tightness. With the Sunfire True Subwoofer, a music and film enthusiast can have real bass in a room that could never support a large, bulky, old-school subwoofer. The Sunfire True Subwoofer Signature is our flagship model. At 13 inches cubed, the Signature woofer produces mind boggling bass from a box which is a fraction of the size of its competitors. Powered by a special internal Sunfire 2700-watt amplifier using Bobs patented Tracking Downconverter power supply technology, the Sunfire True Subwoofer Signature has no equal." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Features and Specs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ .2700-watt amp featuring patented Tracking Downconverter power supply .Frequency response: 16 Hz to 100 Hz (+0, -3 dB) .Greater than 116 dB peak SPL with room gain .Input coupling is optical and it accepts standard and high-level inputs .Bore 10 inches stroke 2.35 inches .Total air volume displacement is over 360 cubic inches .Crossover points variable from 35 Hz to 100 Hz .Crossover slope 36 dB/octave .Input level (volume) control .Phase continuously adjustable 0 to 180 degrees .Passive 70 Hz 6 dB per octave hi-pass line level output for satellite loudspeakers .Dimensions: 13" by 13" by 13" .Two-year warranty .Weight: 57 lbs.
  7. Maybe I was wrong, I but I swore they had one bigger then a 12. I saw it in SoundVision magazine.
  8. Bah, A Sunfire 18inch with it's own 2,800watt Amp built in a nice solid wooden cab. would destroy it no problem. Thing hit's cleanly down to around 14hz.
  9. Nope, just enjoying my new system. I was gonna spring for the AL641's, but I decided last min to get these. Everytime I turn this system on, I still get surprised by not only the sound quality, but the sub's power, the thing has got some kick!
  10. See but is the LFE going to the front channels or the sub? I mean powerDVD XP said it's goes to the front channel, or does it just auto go to the sub since sub's are usually the LFE channel?
  11. System: Klipsch Promedia 4.1 SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 Digital Lite-On 16x DVD PowerDVD XP 4 Full Ok PowerDVD has an LFE downmix option, and I heard this results in slightly better dynamics, but it said you have to have speakers that go resonably low to avoid damage (110hz-140hz area) My Question is if it's safe enough to enable this during DVD playback. Thx
