  1. Flason take the case off and find the rear of the knobs,Get some wd-40 and spray them with this, turn controls back and forth a few tmes and your all set,Wd 40 will clean all dirt and dust away and then will evaporate,Others will not,You do not want a oil to stay wet inside your unit, and thats what others do.This will only collect more dust and dirt and cause more problems in time. This is only a good tip,But thats up to you !
  2. You are right Stephen328 they are a bit off i just got them home a few days ago. There not even set up yet in the corners.I have a 2x4 at the back tilting them forward,I am in the process of giving them a good cleaning with oil soap, the back is worse then the front,I heard oil soap is the best to use on walnet. These are not very easy to move a round very heavy, and stand about 4 1/2 ft high.If you clowns were here that like to make fun of these it be a different story.
  3. Hi Peeler I have come across this before with installs on mega systems, your power is quite high but this is not the problem,Your problem is the wire was made to short for the power you are putting in to these,On the outwards throw on the driver the wire pulls apart from the solder.A quick fix that I have done is to get an old speaker wire and solder it together to lengthen this about 1/2" and resolder this together. This will solve your problem.
  4. Ok every one I can remember now ! This is HELP for lascalas only. The s/n for one of my pair of lascalas are 008296616 /008296617 1) The first 3 digits represent 365 days in a year,So these were made the 8th day of the beginning of the year, 2) The 29 would be 1992,they reverse numbers in this case. Now the last 4 numbers are the match of your pair of speakers. In my case the last numbers follow 16 and 17.Also tearing these apart for years I also noticed every lascala made were marked on the top board with a marker stating your last two digits. This way you can always check to make sure no one has been foolish to play with the ID tags on the rear.
  5. I gave a few tips in the trouble shooting section for blown woofers. If you look around for a set of these drivers they are great, trust me,They are very well made and the driver material is twice as thick,These drivers will outperform or be equal to corner horns. And nice thing they are dead on on casing diameter. Here is a pic of Audioshere research from the 70's and 80's.
  6. These are the drivers to look for.I have still 3 sets of these in cabinets out of my storage room.
  7. rhanks901 if you can find any audioshere research 15" drivers in your area you are laughing. These were put in speaker cabinets years back with massive weights on the rear end and horns on top,I have a set in my lascalas and they sound the same as corner horns or better, you can really hear the difference.I have never burnt any drivers not even the 33 but I like more base,These babys bolt right up no problem.years back they even made a massive 18" house shaker.
  8. Any one that can help me with figuring out serials or a chart on lascalas would be nice.any links to charts?,Can not remember how they work. My serials are S/N 008296617 and 008296616.Year,Month,day ?? Thanks guys.
  9. Try placing lascalas across from each other just for some fun in a good size room. Now go get a cd with some nice low end and nice highs.I don't under stand why so many people say, lascalas do not have much base,Must be the amps people are running,They have more base than I ever heard other than a pair of Tannoy westministers,Run your volume about 11 to 12 and these lascalas will rip your pants
  10. I also agree with boa,On both my systems I run 12 gauge with normal pins,I don't know why people really like to believe you get better sound running all these gold plated things,There putting this gold spray on every plug you buy these days just to sell,Over all the years of making klipsch. You think Paul would not have put these fancy gold connecters on all his crossovers.Take a look guys at your big box in the rear Do you see any shiny connecters,Thats right "no" If Paul thought they were needed for better sound he would have spent 2 bucks and put them on.Keep your loot and spend it on some good 12 gauge or better wire.
