  1. Just curious of anyone knows of any speaker stands that work well with the RSX-5s. I intend to use them as left/right center channel speakers on each side of my TV (Sony Vega 32"). Thanks.
  2. I'm looking to replace my current center channel speaker (KSF-C5) mainly because it's too big sitting on top of my TV (Sony Wega 32"), but also because I'm sure I can do better (bought it in a rush). I have Chorus IIs in the front and RS7s in the back with a Yamaha DSP-A1 amp. I'm considering using the RSX-5s in a stereo-center-channel set up--placed on each side of the TV. I'm also thinking about the RCX-4 on top of the TV, but really prefer not to have anything on top of the TV (just from a visual point of view). I'm not close to a dealer, so don't have the opportunity to listen to the RSX-5s or RCX-4. Appreciate any thoughts or input anyone can give me. Thanks.
  3. I'm in the process of switching center channel speakers (don't like the way my old one sits on my TV) and am looking for a little advice. I'm using the Yamaha DSP-A1 amp which has the connections for stereo center channel. I'm considering using a pair of the Quintet satellite/surrounds and putting one on each side of the TV (probably set back a bit). I've never heard these speakers and am just checking to see if anyone has any thoughts about using them as a stereo center channel. I have Chorus IIs on the front and RS7s in the back. I've been looking for the new RSX5s, but can't find a place that will mail them to me at an APO address (U.S. postage, but military overseas). If I do get the Quintets, I'll also need floor stands. Any recommendations? Thanks. - Mike
  4. Just curious if anyone has heard of stands for the new RSX-5s or can recommend any? I'd like to purchase a pair of the speakers to use as left/right center channel (running from a Yamaha DSP-A1) and would like to center them (vertically) on the TV (probably 2.5ft to center of TV). Thanks.
  5. I've had my Chorus IIs for a few years and am now trying to build an HT system around them--I'm pretty new to all of this. I've looked through the forum on advice for surrounds and am not much closer to a decision. It looks like quite a few folks recommend full range surrounds. I'm pretty open. (music = 50%, video = 50%) Any suggestions? I currently have a KSF-C5 center and no sub (am seriously considering an RSW-10). I appreciate your input. Thanks! - Yamaha DSP A1 Amp - Yamaha DVD S700 - Yamaha CDC 765 - Bose 401s currently in the rear (left over from old system) -- Will give these to my brother when I get new rear surrounds - Room = 15' x 20'

  7. Per the attached photo, the cone on one my Chorus IIs is cracked (must've happened in a recent move). Klipsch has the replacement driver, but it will cost me ($$). I have an offer from what sounds like a reputable vendor to re-cone it, but that sounds a little risky to me. Anyone have any advice for how to press on? Are there places other than Klipsch where the driver might be available? How risky is re-coning? Thanks!!

  10. I'm preparing to take the next step toward improving my music/HT system and am considering purchasing a subwoofer. I'm partial to Klipsch products, have read several internet reviews, and am no closer to deciding where to go in the Klipsch line (however, I did see a comment in this forum speaking highly of SVS). I know the RSW line is out of my price range, so I'm looking at the KSWs. I'm a casual listener (65% music, 35% movie), but appreciate good quality. My current amp (listed below) enables split subwoofer set up (stereo), but I don't know if that's the direction to head. I can probably stretch to afford two KSW-10s, could probably only afford one KSW-12, or might be able to stretch to buy one KSW-15. My current room is approximately 15'x20'(am in the military and move every 2-3 years). I admit that I'm not very knowledgeable about set up, so I appreciate any input anyone can give. Thanks! Current system: - Yamaha DSP-A1 Amp - Klipsch Chorus IIs in front - Bose 401s in rear (left over from a previous system) - Klipsch KSF-C5 in center - Yamaha CD - Yamaha DVD
