  1. Thanks for the suggestion. Problem solved. In reading through other posts, I saw the idea of a complete review of all plug-ins which I did.Buzz was still there. Then I substituted cables and when I replaced the Digital audio cable, problem was still there. The Digital Optic cable did not help. Then I unplugged the Digital cable and went analog which totally eliminated the buzz from the DVD player. My dealer will be sending the Receiver back for warranty work. Thanks again....Don.
  2. Hello...I have a new Nad system consisting of a T761 Receiver and a T532 DVD Player hooked up to Klipsch Speakers. When I use the FM radio, no hum or buzz through the speakers. When the DVD/CD player turns on and the loading tray opens, a load buzz appears. If a CD is placed in the tray and play is pushed, the buzz diminishes almost completely and music begins. There is almost no audible buzz or hum when pause is used. If a DVD is inserted, the same buzz appears and continues when the movie begins, perhaps at a slightly lower level and is audible during quiet scenes.Very noticable when pause is used. Same problem with TV on or off. I just wanted a simple set-up that worked properly, so this aggravating buzz has got this newbie a bit stressed. Any thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance....Don
  3. Hello John...just a note to update you on my set-up. I returned the SB-1's and SC-5. Replaced them with the floor standing SF-1's and SC-1. I have a pair of SF-2's on order so I can upgrade even further should I care to. The Forte's are in the rear and set up through a good speaker switcher so I can use them for surround sound or stereo.I installed the Nad system a couple of days ago and I am really pleased with the sound quality in my room. I can still add the SS-1's in the future. For my ears, I feel I have a very good Klipsch set-up. I'd like to thank you for your advice that straightned things out for me. Don
  4. John....your advice to date is greatly appreciated...take care...Don
  5. Hello John...thank you so much for your encouraging reply. I was about to blow a gasket last night as my mind swirled around with the task of trying to figure this all out. Your comment "It was futile trying to get the best of both worlds at the same time." cleared it all up for me. I do have the Forte's in the rear corners and they will be hooked up seperately. I just want decent sound for movies, so I figured the Synergy System would be an improvement over alot of other packages out there, and give me decent surround sound. Answer me this....you suggested putting another pair of SB-1's in the rear....any reason for not using the Synergy SS.5 or SS-1 surround speakers back there? I don't mind spending a few more dollars to improve this package, so I might upgrade to the SB-2's in front with matching center and surrounds. I'll keep the KSW-10 sub as I feel it's good enough for this small room. Any thoughts on this upgrade?.Thanks again John...I'll sleep better tonight. Don
  6. John..JM..DD......Thanks for the welcome and advice. But now I'm really confused! My room is only 11'x14' and I view across the 11' distance. There is about 10' of wall housing a 34" TV surronded by an entertainment cabinet. There is about one foot of space on each end of the cabinets where I can place the front speakers, hence no room for the Fortes and the reason I was going to put them on the rear wall. As music is my main consideration for the Fortes, I was trying to get away with a lesser quality front speaker, etc. As a last resort, I could put the Fortes inside the cabinets on the end of the unit and open the doors when in use, but I lose alot of storage space. Now I don't know what to do.....I can return the Synergy equipment. What is the minimum quality Klipsch bookshelf equipment I should use in this small room? Should I buy the RF-7 Floor speakers, the R-7C center and RSW-15 sub to compliment the Fortes? Should I sell the Fortes and add the RS-7 surrounds to the above? Can I stay with the Fortes in the rear and use a reasonable set of equipment up front Am I confused!!! I don't want to make a mistake here, so any and all advice is greatly appreciated Don
  7. Hello...I have a pair of 1990 Forte 11's in a small den that Im upgrading to a small home theatre area. I brought home a pair of SB-1's for the front speakers, a SC-5 center channel and a KSW-10 sub. I'd like to use the Fortes in the rear.I'd also like to use this as a 5 channel stereo set up. Any problems with this set up or other advice? I'm also considering a Nad receiver and CD player. In a quick scan of the posts here, I didn't see any mention of Nad equipment. Is Nad a poor choice? Thanks in advance. Don
