  1. I started making these a few weeks ago and selling them among friends and they've turned out to be pretty popular, so that's why I'm offering them here as an inexpensive alternative for 4.1 systems. For $35 here's what you get: 2 x 10 feet for the front speakers 2 x 15 feet for the rear speakers The wire I'm using is RCA Home Theater pure copper 16 gauge. 1/8" miniplugs are soldered on nicely. Shipping is included and if you're interested you can contact me at najibs@hotmail.com I'm in Canada, however, I will ship to the USA as well. I have a verified Paypal account. Thanks
  2. Ok, I fellow I know is selling a set of Promedia 5.1 speakers...JUST the speakers...no subwoofer, no control module, etc...I currently have a set of Promedia 4.1's...so what I was wondering was if I could somehow hook up the center channel to function together with my 4.1 setup to make it a 5.1? Also, if I decide not to do that and instead use them as a home theater setup, could I connect them to an amplifier? ANy suggestions of what I can do with them is helpful and whatdo you think they're worth? Thanks, Najib
  3. Hey Guys, Well, I also went ahead and built my own cables (16 gauge with mono plus at the end soldered)and do notice a slight improvement. Some friends of mine have also asked me to make them cable for their PM's, so, now that I've had practice making them, if there's enough interest I might put up a small webpage and start selling them if people request them! Najib
  4. Hehehe, reminds me of when I was little (like 4 or 5) I can still remember being curious about my Dad's speakers in the living room and poking the cones of his speakers with my destrutive little fingers! Najib
  5. I need help configuring my audigy2. When CMSS 3D is off, only my 2 front speakers work and the sound quality is amazing, however, when I enable CMSS 3D, all 4 speakers play, and the sound quality degrades considerably. If I dont enable CMSS 3D, then only my 2 front speakers work, and I also want the rear ones to work. COuld anyone please tell me how to do this without enabling CMSS 3D and please tell me what the purpose of CMSS 3D is? THe problem with the speakers is that it sounds as if the teble were too high, and when I lower the treble, the sound quality gets horribly reduced...Please help! Najib
  6. Hey there. I had the same problem as you except it was the control speaker that was hissing. Many people blamed the soundcard (I used onboard audio too from an Asus mobo) but try unpluging the speakers from the sound card and you'll see that they still hiss probably. IF that's the case, then its the speakers that are defective. I emailed Klipsch and the only response I got was to exchange them!? Geez, it's unreal how the Promedia line of speakers just has problem after problem, however I have to admit they sound great though...I ended up exchanging them at Best Buy, and now only the rear left hisses a bit, but not that noticeable. I'm still rambling in my mind if I should get the Logitech Z-560's, who knows...Yesterday I got an Audigy2 soundcard, and boy does it change the sound!!!! The quality is superb now. ANyways, good luck with the speakers... Najib
  7. I've been reading in past messages that there's a tutorial on how to make monster cable at home to work with the 4.1's. Can anyone please let me know his website address? Thanks, Najib
  8. thanks for the tip but i don not think it is the soundcard because even when i unplug the speakers from the soundcard, the hissing is still there. I'm convinced that it has to be the cheap cable that comes with the system. I just need to make sure that'll fix it before i spend another $60. I'm just about ready to give up on these speakers and return them and get Z-560's maybe... Regards, Najib
  9. Hello Folks! I bought 4.1's 2 days ago and I am already annoyed to death by the static coming from the 2 front speakers, mainly the front left control speaker...it's just a constant hiss. I've tried switching the cables, shutting off the computer, but the hissing goes on. Is there anything I can do to stop this? Are my speakers defective? Also, if I purchase the monster cable upgrade kit, will that get rid of it? THanks, Najib
